We went there once on the spur of the momemt in fall of 92. When we arrived we looked up a couple of motels, deciding against one of the famous "opry" ones. Next morning we woke up and found that George Bush Sr took a last minute, unscripted campaign swing there and had stayed in our second choice that night.

I saw this huge mobile cruiser in a news report.
It went on the highway and actually would float and cruise in water. Would only handle waves under 4 feet though.
Seemed like an odd hybrid.

Here's a joke for ya Westy.
Love to all my cyber family. I am okay, still over on the big terror threat thread. :)
PETS
A couple was dressed and ready to go out for the evening.
They turned on a night light, turned the answering machine on the
phone line, covered their pet parakeet and put the cat in the backyard.
They phoned the local cab company and requested a taxi.
The taxi arrived and the couple opened the front door to leave their
house. The cat they had put out into the yard scoots back into the house.
They don't want the cat shut in the house because "she" always tries to
eat the bird. The wife goes out to the taxi while the husband goes
inside to get the cat.
The cat runs upstairs, the man in hot pursuit. The wife doesn't want the
driver to know the house will be empty. She explains to the taxi driver
that her husband will be out soon.
"He's just going upstairs to say good-bye to my mother."
A few minutes later, the husband gets into the cab. "Sorry I took so long,"
he says, as they drive away. "Stupid bitch was hiding under the bed. Had to
poke her with a coat hanger to get her to come out! Then I had to wrap her
in a blanket to keep her from scratching me. But it worked. I hauled her
fat ass downstairs and threw her out into the back yard!"
The cabdriver hit a parked car...

Jayco...not Jaco..LOL
So, why didn't you rough it in a pop-up camper instead of a fancy dancy mobile home in Baja?
To: westmex
And did you see my Lucy Goosey pic that grannie posted for me. I just love her, that grannie.
I guess you think women are silly for dressing up a goose?
To: Conservababe
First, all I can find is an Aussie Jayco and they don't seem to have pop up campers......
I started out RVing with an VW Vanagon pop top, diesel powered...It was fine for the wife and I and for me alone..Later on I got aquainted with another lady...She would traval with me during the day and sleep over in her sis and bil's Airstream at night....Later I got a small pop top class C on an Chev Astro van chassis....It had a cab over bed and a dinette that made up into a seperate bed, so she and I could travel without her sis and bil.... We made one trip to Baja in it....Was just to small and crowded for long trips.....So I upgraded to a 21 foot Class C...Same sleeping arrangements but a lot more elbow room........

To: Conservababe
Yes to both questions....lol...

LOl, I just love to talk camping with those who know.
My first pop-camper was a Jayco. It was the Cadillac of campers in the seventies.
To: westmex
Westy, you just make me giggle with your short answers to my questions....as with my goose.
To: Conservababe
A pop up camper on a 4X4 pickup is a good choice for Baja, if there is enough room for the long trip...Can go a lot of places one can't in a bigger rig....I thought of going that route, but could never get any one else to go down there with me... So would have a lot of money tied up in the rig and not use it like it was able to be used....

What a cute little intellectual on the book shelf. and the tug of war guy..he is ready to rumble..
To: Conservababe
I have no idea what kind of an long answer I could give to those two questions...lol

Okay, so I don't cook on a stove while camping. I cook breakfast in a skillet over a campfire. For supper, I put the potatoes in the fire to bake and grill steaks over the fire.
Okay, yall are going to wonder about the bathroom thing, I know. Well, they have these porto potty thingies, to put near your campsite. I mean, you would actually think you were sitting on your own throne at home. LOL
