Me too, and that is why I despise this funeral home version of a wake. I must say, though, at my mothers visitation in Kentucky, we actually smoked in the family room. Yes, we did and it was allowed. LOL
And, all the men got together outside and had a snort or two, really. Was that unseemly of them? I think not. It is just tradition in our family. But, I want to make it an actual part of my wake, without sneaking around a stuffy funeral director and rules. LOL

If needs be, we will.
In the meantime, we will also.

If you order Scotch at my wake...you will be thrown out the door. They would never understand why a Scotch drinking Yankee was at my wake. LOL
To: Conservababe
Not true. Most Southerners know the value of good Scotch just as well as Bourbon and the others.
One Swervie and Catpuppy esquire adore the stuff......
Norhterners they're not.

No true southerner drinks Scotch.
To: Conservababe
Tell that to Swervie and catpuppy.
I think you're putting Southerners in a very small, shallow box.......

Well, if Yankees do drink, they order Scotch or else a fruity tooty drink with an umbrella. LOL
Have you ever tasted the overly priced Scotch whiskey? It tastes like diluted library paste. LOL
To: Conservababe
or else a fruity tooty drink with an umbrella Like the Blue Margaritas (complete with umbrellas) that Northern hussy Sweetliberty drinks.......
