Westy, oh, I had the wander lust. It was just that my lifestyle at all times did not afford me the opportunity.

You are fortunate that you are able to do so, and have done so over the years.

You will see the the next hill, for gawd's sake. It is only an aneurysim in your aorta, not your brain.

I was in pretty good shape till in my 77th year...That's when most everything started falling apart or wearing out...
I know an ex RCAF guy a few years older than me.. He is still going great physically, don't know about the wimmen part...His wife is younger than he is and in much worse shape....Who knows how things all play out...

.....Westy.....

I doubt it very much...I had to give up the motorhome a few years back...Couldn't maintain it any longer...Can't get very far away from my collection of doctors either...The middle of Baja Mexico is no place to need a doc in a hurry, or not be able to hike out to civilization if needed....
I have a younger friend down he street who makes a Baja run most winters. He has offered to take me along, but it is plain foolish to go down there in my shape...Forget the aorta, there are bunch of other major problems that say don't stray to far from your docs....

.....Westy.....

An elderly lady phoned Verizon to report that her telephone failed to ring when her friends called - and that on the few occasions when it did ring, her pet dog always barked right before the phone rang.

The telephone repairman proceeded to the scene, curious to see this psychic dog or senile elderly lady. He climbed a nearby telephone pole, hooked in his test set, and dialed the subscriber's house.

The phone didn't ring right away, but then the dog barked loudly and the telephone began to ring. Climbing down from the pole, the telephone repairman found:

1. The dog was tied to the telephone system's ground post via an iron chain and collar.

2. The dog was receiving 90 volts of signaling current when the phone number was called.

3. After several such jolts, the dog would start barking and then urinate on the ground.

4. The wet ground would complete the circuit, thus causing the phone to ring.

Which goes to show that some problems can be fixed by just peeing on them.

True, but if you are suggesting that as a solution to at least some of my problems, I'd rather not take even 90 volts through my plumbing.....lol

Oh, you got to 77 before falling apart? Great! I am 56 and am falling apart. Many posters on this forum have health problems, and I hope they will tell of them. I will go first.

I used to be 5'4" tall. After premature menopause in my mid thirties, I shrunk. I am now smaller. I have osteroporsis and arthritis. I have recurring shingles pain from an episode in 1999. No pain can be more than that, as it cannot be alleviated by any drug. My teeth are not cavitating, but are just chunking off. My dentist says that is normal for people of celtic origion. I have a herniated disk in my neck. I sleep on a special pillow to ease the pain because I don't want surgery, yet. I broke my foot three years ago, and it still gives me pain, after therapy. My knees have given out. I cannot climb stairs without support of a rail.

So there.....

Good grief!

That reminds me of the joke - what's the difference between sensual and perverted?

Sensual uses a feather ... perverted uses the whole chicken.

Perhaps. But if you're clever, you can carve out a permanent niche solving the problems your solutions create...
