As A Man Thinketh
by James Allen

Chapter One
Thought and Character

The aphorism, "As a man thinketh in his heart so is he," not only embraces the whole of a man's being, but is so comprehensive as to reach out to every condition and circumstance of his life. A man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thoughts.

As the plant springs from, and could not be without, the seed, so every act of a man springs from the hidden seeds of thought, and could not have appeared without them. This applies equally to those acts called "spontaneous" and "unpremeditated" as to those which are deliberately executed.

Act is the blossom of thought, and joy and suffering are its fruits; thus does a man garner in the sweet and bitter fruitage of his own husbandry.

I had at times found James words so comforting, which had reminded me who is the master of my ship. If I don't take control I will be subject to all kinds of affiction. If I must at times suffer affliction at least let them be mine and not at the whim of the unuverse! And If I listen to my Creator I will beable to steer the course better!

It's been dead in here.
Of course, I've been smacking a troll around most of today.

What a gorgeous picture. I could stand a little of that right now. It's bloody freezing here. -20 today with the wind chill factor. Only -7 without the wind. (I wonder how they know that since it's windy?) Sometimes, these weathermen puzzle my brain.

Sounds very nice .38 - I have a gas range now and I love it!! It took me a little time to get used to it tho. I burnt a couple of pans beyond recognition. LOL

Mickey Mouse-inspired cucumbers are a new menu feature at The Garden Grill Restaurant at the Epcot Center in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, as seen in this image released January 2, 2004. The cucumbers are grown hydroponically in greenhouses behind the restaurant. When each cucumber is three inches long, a Mickey mold is attached to the vine and the cucumber grows into it. They take about seven to ten days to mature, in a natural process which yield about three or four per day. EDITORIAL USE ONLY REUTERS/The Walt Disney Company/handout

His ears slope inward at teh top, slope outward at the bottom.
He looks as if his head's been pinched in a vise.
