My niece is in the art school at University of Michigan.

Somehow we spoke about Howard Dean, I forget how it came about, but I mentioned something derogatory about him and she said, Ooh Howard Dean, he's really popular.

I told her about his theory of "Bush knew about 9/11", and she said that "a lot of people think that's true".

I looked at her incredulously and said "do you have any idea how crazy you have to be to believe that?"

She was literally dumbstruck. She mumbled and couldn't say anything. She just started blushing. The light was lit, deep down inside the "skull full of mush" a new synapse was born.

My one brother is a flaming Liberal and big time supporter of the NEA ... he's a teacher and smart then me .. so he tells me

While we were at the hospital he started in on me about the schools and Bush's promise of leave no child behind

I said .. teach the kids how to read and write instead of how to properly wear a condom and there won't be a problem

With that he says, Bush cut funding ..

I said .. no he didn't .. in fact most republicans were ticked off because there was an increase in education spending .. but what he did get was accountability.

I said .. teachers have our kids 6/7 hours a day .. 5 days a week for 9 months out of the year

So in November, I'll break with tradition and vote for a Republican. I'll place my trust, fears, and future in the hands of a man who has shown the world what it means to lead a nation. It's a tradition of leadership that began with Washington and Lincoln, continued with FDR, and has been resurrected by Bush.

I know that we here at FR get ourselves into a fishbowl at times......I remember all the crazy stuff about Clinton that was said (I know, I know.....I hate them as much as you, remember?), and sometimes we repeat stuff that is out of touch with what's really true.

But.....Lord, hear our prayer.......I hope we never get anything close to these people in our delusions.

Just listening and reading them gives me twinges and makes me remember to never get so lathered up about my version of truth that I spew insanity.
