Cold. Not as cold as what you have, but the wind off the bay really cuts through the clothing. Brrrr. I took a walk today - it was overcast, and I was bundled up. Did you see my old-age complaint to you up at the top of the page?

I'll send you up a back rub.
To: .38sw
Didn't see that last post, I was trying to sign out.
I have to be careful about my back cause it can seize up for no apparent reason. I hurt it without knowing when I was younger. Probably a combination of 20 years of carpentry motion, lifting and good old genetics.
It's manageable, but I can't lift a lot without risking being bedridden, so I don't and I manage to still get a lot done.

Thanks! Getting older has some real drawbacks. Oh well. Still above ground, sitting up and taking nourishment, so it's a GOOD day! How are you doing?

Stuff catches up with us all, I think. My mom and dad both always warned me to be more careful of my knees, back and other joints, but did I listen? Oh no. I was invincible. Now many of the seemingly minor injuries I suffered while living an active life are causing some problems. Really, though - I can't complain. I'm otherwise healthy - no cancer, no diabetes, no other medical conditions that require constant vigilance and medication.

I read your Thanksgiving story about the liberal in law.
Linda's sister is this Hollywood, on staff, almost liberal in the strangest way, Scientologist and she came for our Thanksgiving.
One of our sons, who is in basic training, asked me to read a letter to the whole family (there were 25 of us there), so I did, plus I proposed a toast to him and those who were fighting for our freedoms.
Weeeellll....not to be outdone, she proposes a toast to her son (A scientologist who has chosen to indenture himself to all that course, crap, and financial slavery), who was at that moment studying a course to get at the root causes of war, so we would never have to have another.
*Barf*
It took several minutes for us to get back to normal conversation....what a pig....

I'm trying to leave to go out....but I think I'll stay to the last minute, cause the thread miraculously came to life.
Will I get yelled at?
Yes, yes I will......

...get at the root causes of war, so we would never have to have another. Well, good luck with that one. As long as there are evil, power-mad psycopaths in the world, we'll have wars.

She is so weird........Scientology has ruined her life, and now she's got her two young sons involved. I managed to give a warning to one of them nicely, without being threatening or nasty. I feel very sorry for them, so young and getting so ingrown with that crap.
*Sigh*

I won't yell at ya for tryin' to escape for a bit.
Try the side door, it's usually unlocked.
I just slip out and wander..
No-one usually notices.

That is really a shame. I had tried to read Hubbard's book Dianetics, back in the 80's, because many people were talking about. I found it to be such unbelievable crap. Usually when I'm through with books that I've bought and don't care to keep, I pass them on to friends or relatives or donate to the library. This one went into the trash. Then a man I knew started talking about it, and how it made so much sense to him. I didn't say to much about what I thought, I thought I was being polite by not telling him what I thought about it.

Thanks for the suggestions. However, for presbyopia, there's not much to be done for that. The lens of the eye just gets stiffer with age and can't adjust to near vision anymore. Nutritional supplements can't help much with that. And as to my near-sighted condition, that largely due to the size and shape of the eyeball, and also the cornea. It's not such a big deal since my lenses correct my vision to 20/20.

What an arrogant idiot to equate the honor of military service with the nonsense of "mission work" to raise money for charlatans who detach themselves from reality. I would have been obliged to give her the evil eye the rest of the night.

Even ElRon would be disgusted with that. He was a lotta things, and con man tops the list, but he was no pacifist, peacenick, or believer in the possibility of Whirled Peas.
