An Indian woman has married a statue.

Reports say the 21-year-old convinced her father to buy the statue of Krishna when she saw it in a shop in Mathura.

The woman named by Sify News as Premlata from Kadaura village then convinced her parents she wanted to marry it.

Her father Shaligram and mother Laxmidevi objected at first but eventually relented.

Their daughter was married to the statue during a five-hour ceremony which included the lighting of a sacred fire.

OK, so as the statue has no feelings either way on the curtains, her blouse, her hair, whether a dress makes her feel fat, or the decorating ideas she has seen in a magazine, I have a simple question.

Is he still wrong?

Well, the nuns at my school always told me that they were married to Jesus -- what's different in this case?

This could go soooooo many ways.....

What about consent? Wait, the statue was apparently male. Stone silence is often seen as consent from the male of the species. Nevermind.

Where do these people hide their brains?

She doesn't have to worry about it staying. . . .

No, on second thought, that's too easy.

It's a statue of limitations.

Lucky girl!

He won't talk back.
He will always be there when she gets home.
She doesn't have to worry about him getting drunk, carousing or beating her.
And best of all...statues are always, erm...ah...
Solid ;)
