Are you saying Communist officials would accept bribes from U.S. contractors? I thought Marx & Lenin said they'd be bastions of morality, with nothing but their nation's interest in mind.
LOL :-)

All this video is missing are loud, pointless endorsements. So here's mine:

Anybody who has seen our record high $6.9 trillion dollar national debt is unlikely to dispute the existence of bureaucrats, contractors and parasitic government job programs. The Cold War was good for a lot of people who otherwise couldn't earn much of a living. Yes--but don't you see--that's the motive: They want you to think they spent that money on moon research.

How do we know you're not one of . . . them?
Busted. A man in black will be by your house in a few minutes...

Faked hardware construction? I wouldn't be surprised if it was quite real. I also wouldn't be surprised if it was actually sent out there (a la Capricorn One). Whether or not there were inhabitants onboard, however, is not something of which I'm totally convinced.
As for communication signals' origination... I'm no expert in that realm. Could they have been sent from Earth and reflected back by the hardware that presumably arrived, in undetected ways?
As for large casts of studio staffers required to make a hit movie, Blair Witch Project cost somewhere around $50K. At times it showed, and admittedly back then technology wasn't nearly as user-friendly. However, the movie Wag the Dog comes to mind...

The Dukakis Mondale McGovern Dean Presidential canidacies are the true hoaxes of our modern age.
Klintoon was an unfortunate accident caused by white female voters at the cost of 3,000 plus innocent civilain American dead on 9/11 and 400 + soldiers since.

its a fake. Is this post a DUmie troll?
Should there be a zot?

I'm not committed one way or the other, but would it have been possible to make Buzz Aldrin and the (nowadays habitually silent) Neil Armstrong THINK they traveled to the Moon even if they didn't? Could the contractors have been lead to think that they were operating machinery carrying humans much farther than we've been in over 30 years since that era? Could the Lunar rocks have arrived here like meteorites do? Notice how hard they are to obtain? Just last month some folks were imprisoned for dabbling with them.

My purpose was not to propose how difficult the hoax would be, but to point out the number of people who would have to be in on it, and then stay silent about it for 30 years (up to now). I will reiterate..., our government is not that competent.

make Buzz Aldrin and the (nowadays habitually silent) Neil Armstrong THINK they traveled to the Moon even if they didn't? This is a very funny thread.

It is simply amazing how many Freepers cannot recognize satire, even when it is clearly admitted as such.

No, if it was a fake, then the landing would not have been as screwed up as it was, and it was screwed up for those of us in the know.
Buz would have said the right words he was supposed to say instead of screwing up his speech, which he did.
My conclusion, is the hoax is a hoax.
However, when you view the "actual" films of the attack on Pearl Harbor that were shown to the American public during WWII, they were in most parts fake. Much of the released film were re-enactments. Sad but true.
The main difference between them is that the Pearl Harbor films were shown during a democratic administration and the moon landing was during a Republican administration. Lets face it folks, the democrats can't help but lie to the public.
For example, "I did not have sex with that woman, etc".

If the folks who knew how to make such a hypothetical technology let it become known, plenty of government bureaucrats and contractors would be out of billions that they still get for sending folks on the Space Shuttle. NASA's budget's over $15 billion annually. If human spaceflight ended, many think NASA's science budget would be substantially depleted because voters and taxpayers would care far less about space. So there does appear to be an economic incentive to keep certain technologies hush hush. Or maybe Neil's so quiet for a reason. In other countries, folks who can be blackmailed are allowed to get ahead because the blackmailing serves as their leash...

This is a very funny thread.Almost as funny as the video clip. I guess I'm getting dumber as I get older.,I never realized that the post would actually start a discussion about the moon landing being faked. I just thought people would get a laugh out of it, I certainly did. It's a well made clip.

I should add that "microgravity research" is still considered to be a major justification for sending humans into space despite how NASA does it nearly 30 times more expensively than the Russians do, and with a far less impressive safety record too. If zero gravity's obtainable here on Earth, you can imagine how certain vested interests would be substantially threatened.
To: mikegi
This just goes to show you how great an achivement the moon landing was/is. Now that it is thirty years in the past people find it hard to believe it really happened.
Possibly it also shows how we're shrinking as a great nation--I mean, who disbelieved the landing back in '69?
