THE JOHN LEMUEL & FRANCES HANNAH ROGERS STORY

http://fearless-flyers.com/lemhannah.htm

Some of the other family names mentioned include: William Malichi Rodgers, Nathan Boddie, Obidiah Boddie, Jeannette Fulmer, Sara Salter, SeabornTemples, Emanuel Marion Black, Daniel R. Zemar, John Thompson, Stephen Laten Varnadoe, Vera (Varnadoe) Walker Bird, Tom Bennett, Robert Major, Will Walker, Lee Martin, J.C. Crabtree, Thomas Jefferson Forrest, Elizabeth O. Webb, Risby Myers, James Allen Dubose, John A Parrish, Sallie C. Newton, Talula L. Denny, Levi David Whittle, Marylouise Breedlove, Sarah Yonce, Carrie Gilleon, Alice Storey, Artemus Rodgers, Malichi Augustus Rodgers, Lettie Mae (Smith) Varnadoe.

There are a lot of other names mentioned but there’s so much begotten goin on back then it’s hard to keep track. The 1800’s though the mid 1900’s was the time of the family farm and rearing 15 offspring wasn’t that unussual.

Much of the story originates from Edgefield County which is now known as Saluda County, SC, most of the relatives resided throughout the south: North Carolina, Alabama, Florida and Georgia including Lumber City GA, Macon GA, Aiken SC and many other places. The History traces back as far as 1770.

This probably won’t amount to anything but who knows. I thought I’d see if there are any degrees of separation between other members of FR. I know many of us are Sons of the Confederacy and interested in ancestral history. Maybe we can link our families together or have family antidotes we’d like to share about friends and acquaintances. If anyone is interested please check this web page which stands alone for now and won’t be linked to the rest of the site for another month or so. http://fearless-flyers.com/lemhannah.htm

I can be found in the forum through Freepmail, you can comment on this thread or use the e-mail at the bottom of the webpage.

Sincerely Matthew

THE JOHN LEMUEL & FRANCES HANNAH ROGERS STORY has only been edited for formatting, before anyone complains about gramtical errors and structure they should know it was left in its rough draft form to preserve its artistic charm.

Any Yankee elites offended by this can kiss my basket weaving Rebel @$$.

I'll look forward to seeing if anything connects.

My Dad sent me the story this morning and it was pretty memorizing. Then I started to format it for the webpage and I was completely hooked. It took a while to find the pictures, I scanned them for Dad two years ago.

John Lemuel & Frances Hannah (Boddie) Rodgers are my Great Grand Parents, my Grand Pa is the youngest in the picture of the sons and he's in the middle of the family picture standing directly in front of Great Grand Ma who's pregnant with my Great Uncle George at the time the picture was taken in 1898.

All this is trivial information I guess but it still makes me proud. I gotta figure with 16 great aunts and uncles I can't be the only kin here on FR.

I should probably move the family pictures down to the bottom of the webpage and create a legend with the birth dates so people can put the faces with the story. Than leave the picture of Great Grand Ma & Grand Pa at the top of the page. I think I got too excited to do it right the first time.

Maybe I’ll work on it some more when I get back tonight.
