Praying for the Capture of Saddam Hussein

Almighty God, we are taught throughout Your Bible that You are a God of Justice. It is because of this that we pray this simple prayer. We believe that Saddam Hussein is a past murderer and that he is still involved in murder. We pray that out of Your Divine Justice that You would enable him quickly to be captured and brought to the Justice that You decree.

We pray for your Divine intervention, Lord. Strip Saddam of his hiding places and of his support.

We pray this in the name of eternal Justice, in the name of Jesus.

Lord God, You have always been the strength of Your Christian peoples. Yet we have turned from You on so many occasions. And when we do, we bring reproach upon You. We have become, too often, of the world and not just in the world. We have failed to be salt. We have brought discredit upon You because we have reached out in our own names rather than in Yours. We confess our sin before You.

Our prayer is that the murderer, Saddam Hussein, would be soon captured and brought to justice. We believe that justice is Your will, and so we pray. We believe that opportunity to support Iraqi Christians would come from his capture. Why should the world mock You when they mock the prayers of Your people? Stand for Your name, O Lord. Enable us to stand stalwartly with You.

Thanks for the bump to this thread. I have been praying everyday too for the capture of Saddam and his supporters. It is critical for our military that this be accomplished and, praise the LORD, I believe it will be done through the fervent prayers of the righteous in Christ Jesus. This is a spiritual battle and prayer warriors are needful more than ever to do the spiritual battle that our military is trying to do in the physical.

I have shared with some about a vision the LORD gave me on Saturday night (past) of a mega volt of His Lighting - it looked like a mega arrow from on High - piercing through the darkness over Baghdad and splitting the darkness. Then the LORD showed me His Mercy coming down in a rain over Baghdad. This will be accomplished. Please all who read this, speak this right now over Baghdad, link your faith and your will up with all of us who know this battle will be won through prayer.

US forces arrest Saddam's brother-in-law: Iraqi police

KIRKUK, Iraq (AFP) - US forces have arrested Arshad Yassin, a brother-in-law of Saddam Hussein who was also his personal helicopter pilot and a senior figure in his close protection force until the early 1990s, a high ranking Iraqi police officer said.



Yassin, who held the rank of airforce lieutenant general, and another officer of the protection force of the former president, Major Radman Ali Al-Huraimus were arrested Wednesday, in a village located 40 kilometers (25 miles) south of the northern oil city of Kirkuk, the officer said.


He said a US force was airlifted to the village and stormed the house where the two were hiding, disguised as peasants.


He said US troops acted on a tip-off because they went straight to the house. The US army did not confirm the arrests.


Yassin, in his fifties, is married to Samira Hussein, one of Saddam's two sisters. He was considered from the 1980s as the seniormost figure of the protection service around the now toppled president.


In recent days, US commanders have taken off the gloves in their battle with the resistance, resorting to air strikes and heavy artillery against the safe houses and arms caches of insurgents.


Massive search operations for Saddam loyalists and Islamic militants are also being carried out across the restive northern and central regions of the country where most attacks against the coalition have been reported.

Lord God, creator of all children, we appeal to You and to Your justice and holiness. Your Son proclaimed that little children belong to You and that "of such are the kingdom of heaven."

The children of parents murdered by Saddam Hussein; the children of communities murdered by Saddam Hussein; the children who themselves were murdered by Saddam Hussein --- all cry for justice.

We pray for the soon capture of Saddam Hussein and of Your execution of justice upon Him.

Lord God, there is not a sparrow that falls from the sky about which You do not know and care. This demonstrates Your supreme watchfulness over the affairs of your creation. You know all of us inside out. You know the evil within us, and as a means of counteracting those evil inclinations, You direct us to repent and to maintain justice in our homes, communities, cities, and nations.

Because of Your justice, Lord, we pray that You directly assist our warriors who are seeking to bring to justice the murderer, Saddam Hussein. We pray that You guide them in doing the work of Justice that You require of us. Help them soon to capture Saddam Hussein.
