I was thinking highway or exit numbers leading to the underwater tunnels into NYC. There are 3. Lincoln, Brooklyn Battery and Holland. Trying to figure how the "water, water, water" scenario fits in with the "east and west of oblique" description.

Debka File reported that the al-Qaeda linked al-Islah group (with whom Almojahid may or may not be connected) accused the United States of sealing its own fate with its policies. It read in part, "The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows." According to the Debka File, the message was signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by "your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami". According to Debka, the name of the signatory belonged to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens' place of origin where Osama bin Laden is widely supported. Debka reported that the publication's counter-terror sources emphasize these warnings are taken seriously but with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network's electronic traffic. MILK SHEIK: BROOKLYN'S ICE-CREAM 'TERROR LINK'

November 10, 2003 -- The Yemeni owner of a tiny Brooklyn ice-cream shop that took in an astonishing $20 million in six years is suspected of funneling millions to an al Qaeda-linked sheik.

Agents, acting on a tip, learned that $20 million passed through the bank accounts of Abad Elfgeeh's tiny Park Slope shop, Carnival French Ice Cream, between 1997 and early 2003.

Elfgeeh pleaded guilty last month to making illegal money transfers.

But a review of court files by The Associated Press revealed that prosecutors believe Elfgeeh was an associate of a fellow Yemeni, Sheik Mohammed Hasa al- Moayad, who is charged in Germany with helping to bankroll al Qaeda. During a sting operation, al-Moayad told an FBI informant that he supplied $20 million, recruits and weapons to Osama bin Laden, officials said.

Al-Moayad allegedly named four men in New York - including Elfgeeh - he claimed had secretly transferred funds to him.

He also "said he received money for 'jihad' that was collected from the Al Farouq mosque in Brooklyn," according to court papers cited by the AP.

The mosque has been identified as a place of worship for terrorists, including the men who bombed the World Trade Center in 1993.

If I was a planning an act of mass destruction, I wouldn't choose a day when most government buildings are closed. Then again, its business as usual for the private sector, except for my office, where we respect our veterans and close for the day. I do have a meeting in Manhattan late in the day on Wednesday though.

I'd like to believe that if there was any credibility to these threats we'd get a real warning like the one that was issued to Americans in Saudi Arabia. In a way, I think the color code does work because with these NY-DC-LA threats floating around out there, I'd definitly think about not coming in to the city if we got an official warning and the alert status was raised to red (it's always at orange in NY and DC).
