What could possibly turn a staunch republican into a wishy washy lib?

Posted on 11/07/2003 12:42:40 PM PST by mylife

This is freaking me out!! How does a staunch Republican, raised in a republican home, who always put his shoulder to the wheel, aquired a masters degree, built his own buisiness and retired at 40 due to hard work and the wonder of capitalism and the stock market become a freekin wishy washy touchy feely new age Lib?

Maybe some more background might help us give you some insight. I've never seen one pull that switch, myself . . . all my friends who've moved have moved right.

He spends too much time watching the mass media, now that he is retired. Also, being retired, it allows him too much time to feel guilty about all his success.. I know this because a similar thing happened to my own father, who used to be a conservative democrat (a bit more liberal than Zell Miller, but in the same vein). Now he is a freaking, left wing lunatic. He watches CNN and MSNBC all the time...

Who said, "Liberalism is a philosophy of sniveling brats"? . . . and do you agree or disagree?

Say no more. You've uncovered the problem. Some (impressionable) guys just completely lose their marbles over broads. Some have been known to even convert to Islam because of them.
