My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Morning feather. Sad news about our troops this morning. I don't understand how it happened these evil doers got close enough to murder our troops in this way.

To: All
Fire and Ice
by Robert Lee Frost
Some say the world will end in fire;
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To know that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

The Fall

You said that you liked the springtime
With its warmth of lengthening days.
You said that you loved the summertime
When the noonday heat formed haze.
But now you say there's a season
That stirs you like a call,
The fading light of shorter days,
The time of year called 'Fall'.
You are like the rest of men,
You live one day at a time,
In most of your days you plod along
A rough path, hard to climb.
At times you rest from your labour,
When you see the fall of the leaf,
You know from the summer's passing days,
All things in life are brief.
When the roses fade away,
The frost of the dawn brings chill.
The multi-coloured fading leaves
Bring hues to the vale and hill.
Then you stand and gaze with awe
At a sight which is nature's call,
The rich brown speckles, the shades of green,
In the gladsome sight of fall.
The tender yellow shines like light
Where the shade of the hillside blackens.
A carpet of old gold spreads the way
Where the leaves fall on the brackens.
The gentle rustle of fallen leaves
Will stir up your emotions.
The fading light through the half-bare trees
Will bring you to devotions.
So that is the reason, neighbour,
Why you feel a wave of zest.
When you see the autumn glory
At the time you love the best.
It is not a wave of fancy.
It is Mother Nature's call.
She puts away her summer clothes
At the time you love, 'The Fall'.

I wrote this poem in the 1980's. It is published.
The Copyright © date updates as the new year changes.
This poem is on line.
Io Queen of Space
Timid and shy, silvery webs, one behind the moon.
Icy and rime covered, through the asteroid belt.
Diamonds dripping in Pegasus nebula. Iris.
Vile, gaseous, stifling, under the rings.
Three in Jupiter.
Feisty and bold, yellow and gold.
Two before the sun.

#873 is for you also, sorry I didn't add your name in the ping. :-(

The Copyright © date updates as the new year changes.Well I learned something else new. Now I'll be confused about when something was written when I do research. Boo-hoo. More confusion isn't what I need. LOL.

This may be the case only at this site, snippy. I don't think this is standard operating methods for most places, especially regarding historical stuff. This was something I noticed when we went into the new year. They copy right from when the work is submitted to them for on line publication.
To: bentfeather
Thank you for the explanation. :) Hey guess what. I bought a fancy hat! No feather duster to go with it though.

You have a fancy new hat!! Wow can we see it??
I love hats, big brims and feathers. Also, I love Western hats. Woo Hoo.
To: bentfeather
Eventually you can see it. LOL. I don't know what it's called but it is brown and has a satin band with a satin rose (all brown). It comes way down around the face. Sort of cloche but not as round.
