My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

I always re-write stuff.
Often there's a version 2.0 or such of stuff I've written..
*chuckle*
Me, I usually typo and post 'teh' and such..

All the writers groups say rewrite. Your work will get better, probably true, but I have only so many days to live. LOL

I never mess up when I write with a pen but a keyboard is of the devil.

Really, well I don't do that much hand writing any more.
Usually write in these boxes.

I would have thought you wrote this today after SAM's post but I see a 2002 copyright. It's great.

Pantera - Cemetary Gates
Reverend, reverend
Is this some conspiracy?
Crucified for no sins
Her image - beneath me.
Lost within my plans for life
It all seems so unreal
I'm a man cut in half in this world
Left in my misery
The reverend he turned to me
Without a tear in his eyes
It's nothing new for him to see
I didn't ask him why
I will remember
The love our souls had
Sworn to make
Now I watch the falling rain
All my mind can see
Now is your (face)
Well I guess
You took my youth
I gave it all away
Like the birth of a
New found joy
This love would end in rage
And when she died
I couldn't cry
The pride within my soul
You left me incomplete
All alone as the
Memories now unfold
Believe the word
I will unlock my door
And pass the cemetary gates
Sometimes when I'm alone
I wonder aloud
If you're watching over me
Some place far abound
I must reverse my life
I can't live in the past
Then set my soul free
Belong to me at last
Through all those
Complex years
I thought I was alone
I didn't care to look around
And make this world my own
And when she died
I should've cried and spared myself some pain...
You left me incomplete
All alone as the memories still remain
The way we were
The chance to save my soul
And my concern is now in vain
Believe the word
I will unlock my door
And pass the cemetery gates

Thanks snippy.

That's from the metal band Pantera.
Song came out way back in 1996 or so and was used in the movie Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight.
Somewhat filled with some truth.
The similarities between it and some of what I write is pretty shocking to me, but it is an interesting song anyway.
Kinda like writing away to find that someone else has already written it...

Back after a short break (I do have to work sometimes, more is the pity...)
Thanks to all for your kind words. This was written over about a half-hour period this afternoon and the words just seemed to flow. Personal ghosts being what they are, and all.. :)
What a wonderful getaway and a fine place to share. So glad to be here!

It's good to have you here.
For me, I end up taking several hours to write stuff.
I tend to try and resist the ghosts and all.
In the end, of course, I fail and stuff gets written anyway.
Thanks again for posting it.

The worst are the ones that come from dreams.
I'll be stone cold asleep and hear a song or a poem in the dream and wake up like a switch was thrown.
I then scramble to write it down before it fades from memory.
Given the choice, I prefer being haunted by my ghosts.
