~The Dragon Flies' Lair IV~

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and I...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Good morning everyone!

Hi snippy. The wind howled most all night. There is no snow on the ground, what did fall yesterday has melted.
Temp is 28-Wind Chill 16, 30% chance of snow, high going to 36. Rain by Monday.

If all goes well, I should have my replacement BIOS chip on the 20th.
But we all know about the flying fickle finger of fate, right?

A Miniature Home

I'm more than a dollhouse, to be used just for play.
I'm a "miniature home," growing memories each day!

Please fill me with treasures
that you hold most dear.
Look for small dolls that would like to live here.
Collect tiny trinkets; add, year after year!

Mementos of travels,
friends, relatives too~
and things that you make, will most certainly do,
to make these rooms home-y
and pleasant
for you.

Then, weave a fine story
'bout your doll family.
(They'll each need a name
and personality.)

Together, we'll create
a lifetime memory,
For I'm more than a "dollhouse;"
I'm an heirloom, you see!

Yogurt anyone?

A FRUITFUL FIRST

Juan Metzger, a former Dannon Co. executive, is credited with putting fruit in yogurt. Metzger was recognized for suggesting the addition of fruit at the bottom of containers of the dairy product to improve its taste. The first flavor was strawberry. Metzger's father, Joe, co-founded Dannon Co. in the Bronx in 1942.

Russian author Boris Pasternak wrote,
"Life itself, the phenomenon of life, the gift of life, is so breathtakingly serious."

Today is Friday, Nov. 14, the 318th day of 2003 with 47 to follow.
The moon is waning.
The morning stars are Jupiter and Saturn.
The evening stars are Mercury, Mars,
Venus, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.

Never give a person more power than he can use, for use it he will. --Cotton Mather (1663-1728) Puritan clergyman, writer.

I thought you would love this quote, especially the authors name. Would you post a picture of your Cotton Mather? My favourite cat that I scared half to death that day!! LOL

Such wonderful memories I carry with me from Tennessee...
Early Fall 2003
Lots of Southern Hospitality.
A wonderful adventure for me.
Meeting FReepers full of fun
antique car rides held high on hills
Nights of chatter, and coyote howls
lone train whistles in the night.

And dreams of travels to see the brother
walking down country roads
sharing memories from our childhood
shopping for our supper together
or going out to dinner,
And church on Sunday at 8:00 A.M.
Mother would be proud of him!

Dragon Flies in the air
another visit
with lots of flair
Gifts of glass and sparkling shimmer
a lovely way to end summer
with loving friends and family
Thanks radu, for all you gave to me.

Okie dokie, ms. feather. You asked and you received. Cotton Mather....UPRIGHT! LOL!!

The original Cotton Mather is an ancestor on my Dad's side and I named this sweet kitty after him.

Now I'd better start that roast or hubby will be terribly upset.....and he'll stick his rumbling belly against my ear again. hehe! I'll do my best to get back later. *HUGZ*

My freedom is your sweet pleasure
We have new-found
happy seas.
Casting about
a lost heaven
is your love.

When I'm present, I'm never seen,
I can play games, and sometime sincere,
I can hurt you, or make your day, I am
neither living nor material,
What Am I?

Thank you snippy, I write every day. Most of my work is new. Of course, once in a while I sneak in an older piece. :)

Ohhh you sensible
men of guns
and prose
You do write
of love roses
and sending tingles
to the toes
of your lady in repose

Ohhhh you sensible
men of guns
and war
will you love
her forever more?
Or will the hell of
what you see
come between
you and me?

Cause the nights
to be stone cold
and a lovers
shoulder a
rock hard boulder
to stiff to love
every again
Soaked in Bourban
and gin left to
take it on the chin?
Can you be soft lover again?
