~The Dragon Flies' Lair IV~
November 7, 2003 | bentfeather

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and I...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Our Heroes, America's Best

Thanks Sam for the poem, coffee and donuts.

Radu was not around last night scarfing up crumbs.
Me thinks she is very busy in TN cutting glass.

Heck, we've got so much trouble! Our server is cutting us off and now our back up is down. We are struggling to get something together. Grrrr.

Therefore, we've been out of touch too.

Believe me it's a nightmare. Not just tomorrow but all the work SAM's done for the next month will have to be reworked. It's a nightmare we are not completely unfamiliar with as you know but we hate to be doing it again. Cross your fingers that VetsCoR gets their website back up because they are our back-up!

We have the high winds and cold but luckily no snow.

My cable was out until 10 am this morning to add insult to injury. SAM says it's a plot. LOL.
You have to laugh or I'd cry. Arrrgghh!

Stay warm.

I thought there was a cable problem, because Sam loaded the thead and the pinger frame.

My cable goes out once in a great while.

Boy, I hate that when it happens.

His love flooded me
We laughed in brightness
with sunset raining
on moon beam eyes
His love walks my dreams...

I'll be screaming in just a couple of minutes....as soon as I step out the door to go back to the workshop. It's COOOOOOLD outside!! My blood's still summer-thin and I'm just not ready for winter. hehehe!

I've put it off longer than I should have. The kitties are all inside now so it's time to bundle up and get over there.

Have a wonderful rest of the evening. I hope you don't get too much of that "s-word" tonight.

Roadhouse Blues

He sat on an otherwise empty stage, a solo star,
in a tarpaper sided roadside bar closed for the night,
and picked the worn nylon strings of his old guitar,
venting his silent rage in each note with all his might.

Soulful, reaching, dragging memories out of the very air,
as he played from his heart alone, and fought the demons of his mind.
Bittersweet the music and the moods it evoked in him there,
and set the night alive, to dreams he thought he’d left behind.

His audience was made up of Father Time and the Fates doing downtime,
and the music of that soul held a power that flowed out among the stars.
God and all the Angles had the tables on the left, tapping their foot to mark the time.
and the music left a better place for the passing of its roiling current in that empty bar.

The last haunting note was hanging in the quiet air of dawn for so long,
and the tired worn player sat his guitar down and stood listening to the night.
He thought he heard clapping, and he swore he heard the echoes of his song,
and as he slowly walked from that ancient stage, he wore a unseen halo’d light.

Thank you feather. We are still having trouble but struggling along. Woke up to 27 degrees but dry. How about you, more snow?
