Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks that though we are sleeping through the night, there are untold numbers who are standing watch over us, both here and abroad. Father, we cannot begin to know the stresses placed upon them, for each must be vigilant and perceptive and knowledgeable and quick to sound the alarm. That we continue to sleep safely is a testament to Your loving care and to their diligence. Grant them continued success, O God, for the enemy would have us desolate.

We grieve at the loss of our sons and daughters in this war on terrorism ... shorten these days of war by Your power and might, that the enemy be rendered totally powerless and incapable to rise again to claim other victims. Unite the nations as we seek those who wish us harm ... let none escape ... we seek Your protection, even as they seek our destruction.

Heavenly Father, I pray that You will continue to bless these United States, not by merit of our own, but for the sake of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, in whose Name I pray, Amen ...
