OK - have been lurking (mostly) on this thread for days...since all theories seem to be on the table, here's my 2 cents on meaning of "Belly of the Eagle." I take the Eagle to be a name for the United States...therefore the belly of the Eagle would be the heartland, say Oklahoma or Kansas.

Take it one step further. Look at the shape of the state of Texas, home state of our president. Can you imagine it as an eagle with wings spread? The belly of that Eagle (Texas) would be somewhere in central Texas. I would think the state of Texas would be of great symbolic meaning to the Jihadists-- it would be an added insult to Bush if they could hit us there. (I hope not...I live in Texas.)

As far as the great, dark cave goes - there is an obvious one that I haven't seen mentioned yet....Carlsbad Caverns, New Mexico. (Although I really think the cave reference is more symbolic than physical.)

Somebody way back on this thread when the word was posted to leave NY Washington and LA, had fellow employees (islamic) up and move from southern Conn. to Houston Tx out of the blue... back around the time freeperfromNJ noticed his islamic fruit vendor disappear.
