Yes, that is correct.
Asanyone knows who has flown into Vegas is sits in a great desert plain and if someone wanted to fly straight into the Luxor that would not be a problem at all. None whatsoever.
At night that light at the top of the pyramid would be a landing beacon which a pilot could see for at least 50 miles if not more.

Its rare that I post here anymore primarily due to time constraints, but I feel absolutely compelled to do so right now.
You see, I just got off the phone with a federal contact in DC who verified the validity of the information Sean (and others) have been very diligently working on as a volunteer with the Northeast Intelligence Network regarding inbound flights, EOM messages and most specifically, the BA flight referenced in the last pages of the posts. Wanna know something? Sean was dead-on accurate with almost each and every bit of info he posted. To be sure, he does not need me to validate his information, or defend his posts as he does fine on his own. Also, the many FReepers who are astute enough (and there are many) who realize what is at stake here have taken a lot of heat from a few people. I hope all of you who have read this entire thread, all 5000 plus posts, know that the threat against us continues to be at an all time level. I have not updated our site as frankly, I spent most of my holiday weekend on the phone with federal contacts putting together the info that Sean and others compiled. But.... I will be doing so shortly, and with tremendous pride.
After considering this latest volley of posts, I would ask everyone how relevant and informed the following comments are (from a short search of posts on FR about our efforts):
---*THE NORTHEAST STUPIDITY NETWORK*
---Eh, I think the Northeast Stupidity Network makes DUMBKA look like the Wall Street Journal
---the cheesy way they try to pretend that they have some connection with the federal Dept of Homeland Security makes me take them with a whole box of salt
---I guess it fits--they've always seemed to be a bunch of NINnies
---Oh yeah, some asshat typing from an old Commodore 64 in his mother's basement and calls himself the "Northeast Intelligence Network" has actually analyzed thousands of documents himself.
I could go on, but what's the point? Sean did a fantastic job, and yes, the threat still exists. Other FReepers have contributed greatly to the data gathering process, while others.... wait, my Commodore 64 is locking up.

Yep, according to the map, a plane could fly a flight pattern almost directly towards the Mandalay Bay and Luxor and then deviate to crash into them with little to no time for a response.
For those who have never been to Vegas, I cannot stress enough how close the Luxor is to the end McCarran Airport.
As for the Luxor beam, anyone who has driven into Vegas from the 95 or some other highway at night can tell you that it is easily seen from 50 miles away (such as Indian Springs).
