Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks that You have held at bay those plans of attack against our beloved country and our citizens throughout the world. You have looked with favor upon the dawning of this New Year and have allowed us to enter the freshness of this day without the shedding of innocent blood. We continue to seek Your protection every hour of every day ... grant the greatest wisdom to those who gather information, that they would be able to confound the enemy and divert disaster. Keep us ever alert to any hint of danger, both here and abroad. Refresh those who stand guard, that they never tire on behalf of the safety and security of a free-loving people. We covet their safety and the soon return to the loving families who await.
God of the Universe, instill in all peoples everywhere the immediate need to sweep away every form of terrorism and to render harmless all those who would do harm. May the Spirit of Discernment continue to guide those in authority over us, that each day brings us closer to life lived without constant threat. May it be thus, O God, in the Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen ...
