Part of me wants to say that there's no way any terrorists will make me change my plans and curtail my activities, because if they make us stay home, they have technically won a small victory against our freedom. I'd like to flip al Qaeda the finger and lounge in the middle of Times Square with a drink and an American flag as we watch the ball come down for 2004.
But the sensible part of me says to stay home and watch it all on TV. Luckily for me, I don't really have to make this decision since I was planning to stay home anyway. As you said, why pitch a tent at a potential ground zero? Hopefully nothing at all will happen but if it should, I choose to live and be around for the payback.

Just saw a fighter jet overhead here in the east bay area of northern California. Probably heading toward SF.
