Al Qaeda again threatens New York, Washington and Los Angeles - Daily Terror Threat

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

Oh, I guess we can all relax now. Right? I've said this before, I highly suspect any attack will occur at Bert not Alert level Earnie or Elmo. At yellow, it's easier to attack, at Orange, scrutiny is too high and Red is most likely to occur afterward. After all, if they are certain of an attack, ala Red Alert, why aren't they stopping it?

Wow Donna, I never thought of it that way. Not only was it close with GW and Gore 2000 race, we need to look back at Ross Perot's independent run in 1996. Definitely a disaster for the Republican party. Perot took away votes that would have otherwise gone to Bush #1. A minor technicality, but Bush 1 didn't run in 1996, Bob Dole did...but in reference to 1992, you are quite correct.

Perhaps things aren't as bad as we all seem to think?

IMHO, a lot of our concern is off of unsubstantiated 'net postings. (EOM, Daleel, etc). Maybe the feds know this is just jihad-wannabees messing around with big talk, and that the "real" terrorists are being taken out/controlled.

I know for myself that I was unaware of the seriousness of the threat until I started reading more here and elsewhere (homelandsecurity, stevequayle, etc). Maybe the gov't doesn't take that info seriously and they know more than we give them credit for?

Either way..I will be glad to see the level lowered. It gives me a sense that maybe the gov't DOES know what they are doing after all (sometimes I doubt this!)

Just catching up this morning. This article now says he had dual Egyptian/Canadian citizenship. The other said US/Egypt. Also this article says "Ashraf had just started working with Flash Airlines and wasn't flying but was on the relief crew of the doomed charter plane".

This becomes more muddled as we go as a lot of these stories seem to get. Thanks V for the link. I will continue down the thread. WCG

In following this individual I have noticed a distinct hatred for Jews and Turks and the events of 1915 which are reiterated over and over and over again. The "islamization" of this individual has been an evolving process. This ivdividual may not be from Armenia per se, and all indications are the he/she is residing in Amsterdam, NL.

Johnny "Taliban" Walker, Richard "Shoe-Bomber-Boy" Reid and Jose Padilla are examples of individuals from "christian" countries who converted to radical islam.

I e-mailed the people who tracked down his wife re: both articles and the fact that this story gets stranger by the day. Although it should be expected based on the history of all the hijackers and others (Egypt Air pilot) that have been investigated. They seem to lead many lives like Chamelions so they fit in wherever they can which is what scares me. Continuing down the thread..........

For that matter, I've never been able to understand why jews, who have suffered more at the hands of varying socialist and totalitarian governments than most, appear so overwhelmingly in support of leftist causes and big government.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that we are ALL going to have to "fend for ourselves" IF anything ever happens.

Just had an interesting conversation with my local emergency management department for our county. They are clueless and I got the impression that they have less of a plan to respond to an NBC event than any of us here do (we are FAR more ahead, based on what I talked to with their Director this morning).

Since I live in a house with a "walkout" basement (one whole wall is windows and is at ground level, whereas the other end of the room is typical poured concrete wall underground - our lot "slopes"), I decided "shelter in place" is probably not going to save me if there's a radiological event (like I think there may very well be in 2004). So, I called to ask.."are there any designated locations [schools, hospitals, etc] that are set aside for residents to come to if something like this happens". Her advice (even after I described the window problem) was "stay put. close your windows, etc". Gee..THAT is encouraging - NOT! This lady knew DIDDLY about what radiation can do - how to properly protect yourself, etc.

She also seemed totally unconcerned about anything affecting us here in SE Michigan. Told her about the Washington Post article about NEST guys being here the other day. She didn't even know. All she could come back with was "well, that's Intel, and we deal with preparation" (um..isn't part of being prepared knowing what you are at risk for?). Then she "assured" me that even if anything happened in Detroit, that we wouldn't be affected here 20-30 miles out (um, no..radiation goes further, depending on the size of the device).

Net net, I came away from that conversation with a reinforcement of my initial belief that many of those who are "protecting" us are idiots. Guess it's time to build myself a saferoom with concrete walls and NBC filtering, cuz the government SURE isn't going to be of any help if anything (God forbid) DOES happen.

NYC has been orange since 09.11 and will remain there. However, from my observations, the current orange is substantially more orange than a few weeks ago

Thank you WCG! Interesting that she was only shown in a darkened room. One can only speculate as to the reasoning behind that. Personally, when I see an interview taking place with the subject either blurred or in a darkened room, I think to myself that they are hiding a lot more than they are revealing to us. We have flight schools here so why go all the way to the Middle East to learn to fly commercial?!?! Granted, I'm sure security is much tighter and they are scrutinizing each and every applicant much closer than pre 9-11 but if he were such an upstanding San Diego businessman, I would think that he would breeze through a security check. This whole incident just makes me go Hmmmmmmmmmm....... something just isn't right with this.

As far as the Freemason connection, my son belongs to the same lodge as the pilot did. After talking to my son yesterday he did explain a bit to me that as long as one believes in God, they are allowed in. Since allah is their god, there ya go. Makes me absolutely ill. He says that there are a lot of wealthy middle eastern types who belong to that lodge. Here's hoping that our guys are right on top of all of this.
