Al Qaeda again threatens New York, Washington and Los Angeles - Daily Terror Threat

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

There are many, many more people that appreciate every bit of work you and others are doing. Our President and DHS told us to be vigilant and that is exactly what we are doing. It is better to do something, to fight, to stop something from happening even in a small way as we try to do here than to do nothing. There are always those on this site that make fun of others because I think they are really scared and that's the only thing they can think of to do. Otherwise they are just very foolish and naive!!

I've done not a thing, GOPJ....I've just been perusing this thread off an on, over the past couple of weeks, not having posted on it, since perhaps somewhere possibly in the first 500 posts.....it's quite impossible for me to read it all, as by the time I'm caught up, it will be beyond 8,000 posts. Sorry, I'm also not knowledgeable as to what has been discussed.....but I'm sure some other kind FReeper can clue you in!

Pardon me for the random vanity posting but I had an interesting thought. Earlier on the thread, a story was posted about a woman freaking out on a flight and assaulting an air marshall.

I assume that if a flight has air marshalls, it will have only one. What if you had a lone "nut" freak out and attack the air marshall to distract him, while the accomplices used the diversion to "neutralize" the air marshall while he was distracted? If the air marshall is busy trying to control the unruly passenger, it might be easy to get the drop on him.

Well, between the bits and pieces I've read on this thread, and the cancellations/searches/F-16 escorts this past week...yes, it is.

No they are not breaking into AQ sites, they are utilizing a variety of accepted methods of obtaining information. To the second question, sure, but its unlikely.

The third question is much harder to answer. The data being collected only has meaning when put in the proper context of threat analysis. For instance, a pic of a hotel has no meaning by itself, but when found in say, an internet "briefcase" used by someone who is known to be posting terror threats, it takes on a greater meaning. But then, it still might not have any meaning unless the background of the person/poster has been identified as credible based on a number of other factors. Really simplistic answer, but I hope this helps a little.

The last time I looked at that countdown site was at about half past midnight. It said 32 days 23 hours 30 min. If I am counting correctly then zero hour would be the midnight between Feb 3 and the morning of Feb 4. That would seem to be slightly after Eid. However the date seems to be an estimate of the visibility of phases of the moon rather than a precise solar date. Some sites say Feb 1, others say Feb 2. Here is a quotation:

Eid-al-Adha: The moon's conjunction is on Wednesday, January 21, 2004, at 21:05 Universal Time, i.e. 4:05 pm Eastern Standard Time - 1:05 pm Pacific Standard Time. On January 21, the moon is going to be 4 hours old and cannot be seen anywhere in the world. On January 22, it will be seen in most of the world excluding Asia and Europe, as shown by the visibility curves. Therefore, first day of Zul-Hijja is going to be on January 23 in most of the world, and accordingly, 10th Zul-Hijja is going to be on Sunday, Februay 1, 2004, insha'Allah, while 10th of Zul-Hijja in most of Asia and Europe is going to be on February 2, 2004.

If having the moon be in a certain configuration is a prerequisite before taking action, then it would make sense for them to launch the attack a day or two after the estimated date just to be sure.

The "real" EOM is an Islamic jihadist braggart of the highest calibre. I loathe him and his kind. I intend to be one of those responsible for placing him behind steel bars or having facilitated his early departure from planet earth and a face to face meeting with his dead god.

I have been following the posts of EOM for about two, maybe three weeks, perhaps four at the outside. I have been following his IP, tracing his proxies. Waiting for him to slip up.

Earlier today I dared him ever so subtly and he took the bait, the rest is history.
