oops, this article says Iran has never confirmed the identity of the suspects, who according to Western intelligence and Saudi sources may include al Qaeda's security chief and a son of its leader, Osama bin Laden.

I am certain I was not the only person in this world to have that thought. If anyone gave them the idea it would have been the show when it first aired. The dummies in AQ are only used to carry out operations. The think tank has many scientist and university professors. Further, Islam is basically based on natural science almost pagen. These guys understand earth processes. I wouldn't even venture to guess how many physicist, engineers, chemists, etc. are muslims. Whether or not they support the idea of Islam being the only religion is another question. However, my understanding is that is the main goal of Islam. I think bringing up the island at this point in time will give our intel the idea if they haven't already thought of it. Believe me, if I had the thought, they had the thought first. The idea was already out there and more should be made aware of it. That landslide is eventually going to occur and create a Tsunami regardless of AQ. It is part of the earth process and has happened since the earth cooled and oceans appeared. Just like Yellowstone is going to blow, either next week or 100 years from now. Eventually it will happen. But that too is just part of the earth's process.

Well, we know it's HIS opinion since he wrote it. But I disagree with your assessment of Sean's statements as being opinions. For instance he states:

That is not an opinion. That's a statement of fact.

Here, again, he's stating something as a fact.

Again, this is not an opinion; he's stating a fact - that is that OBL has been captured.

The fact is the FoxNews report is dated prior to his quotes above. In other words, he reads the news like all of us, but then twists them as if they came from the US Government. In fact he states "We have just received two unconfirmed reports from US Government sources in Virginia that US SOF captured Osama bin Laden in Iran today." (post #13661)

So, in essence, you're saying that YOU, too, are skeptical of his statements. Furthermore, it's not whether he's right or not, since his so-called "intel" is not HIS afterall, but the US government. So, if, in the end, Sean's statements (ie, that OBL has been captured) are right, it's only because he read them somewhere or someone passed them along to him. Either way it's not his "intelligence," but someone else intelligence.

I could make the same declarative statement and state right here that OSAM BIN LADEN HAS BEEN CAPTURED. If he's eventually capture, it's not because of my intel, but because of my educated guess. The probability of his being captured increases as time goes, and locations of his whereabouts, and individual testimony are discarded. Much like looking for a key in an apartment. We know the key is there, but we have to search for it. Minutes after the search the key hasn't been found, but we know it's there. Hours after the search, we're almost finished searching but still haven't found the key. But we have one last location to search for which it will only take a few minutes to find the key.

Yep, the jury is still out as to whether OBL has been captured or not. But I will only believe it when official government sources say so, and not when I, or john doe says so. Until we have an OFFICIAL declaration I'll remain extremely skeptical.

NEW YORK (AP) - Police sent to investigate a backyard explosion that injured an artist Saturday discovered weapons and ammunition along with material related to the World Trade Center and other sensitive locations, authorities said.
The discovery brought members of the Joint Terrorism Task Force to the Brooklyn home of Christopher Hackett to investigate, FBI spokesman Joe Valiquette said.

Police said they weren't sure of the significance of the material, which included photos of the World Trade Center and information on the Brooklyn Bridge and a city reservoir.

Hackett, 31, dialed 911 just before noon after suffering burns and head injuries while working on an art project, authorities said. He was in stable condition at Lutheran Hospital.

Hackett said an explosion occurred while he was working with a propane tank and a homemade device designed to shoot confetti out of a pipe, Fire Department spokesman Sean Johnson said.

Authorities found eight pounds of black powder, two high-powered rifles, a 9 mm handgun, a shotgun, a machine gun, a case of shotgun shells and 400 rounds of other ammunition, Johnson said.
