Al Qaeda again threatens New York, Washington and Los Angeles - Daily Terror Threat

Monday, November 3, 2003

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

Any news on how AlQaeda wants to strike London first? This story about the trucks entering Iraq with missiles makes one think the s**t may soon hit the fan.

>>
Our enemies in this war are not just the radical islamists, but the governments and state run entities which continue to support them.<<

Lets not forget all the "Charities" that funnel cash to these folks. If it weren't for sympathizers, there wouldn't be a terror problem.

Yes, they are included in the "supporting infrastructure" category.

No it's not a joke. But, I'm not going to worry what a bunch of sand fleas keep saying over and over again.

The government keeps saying that we WILL be attacked again. The government then keeps passing laws like patriot act I and II and KEEPS grabbing power for itself in the name of national security all the while keeping the borders wide open for anyone to just waltz right in and do whatever they want.

And don't forget that the US Government with the help of the CIA STARTED Alqueda and also GAVE Sadam chemicals and weaponry back in the 80's to fight IRAN.

And no one has been fired or held accountable for the governments failures to stop the attacks on 911.

No, the one I am looking for allowed you to enter a city/zipcode then it took the "lay of the land" into consideration. The PBS map doesn't allow that. I'll keep searching. Thanks so much for the links and for taking the time to look.

>>>Justice for Lynne Stewart Website - Note bottom of page : 'This website is made possible by the generous support of the Open Society Institute.' Open Society Institute: Date: Thu, 24 Jan 2002 11:55:38 -0000 From: OneWorld.net Reply-To: gkd@phoenix.edc.org To: gkd@phoenix.edc.org Subject: [GKD] ICTs and NGOs in Southeast Europe OneWorld , the online human rights and sustainable development network, and the Information Program of the Open Society Institute (OSI) , have released a report on the use of ICTs (information and communication technologies) by non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Southeast Europe . Southeast Europe was at the forefront of progressive use of new communication technologies in the 1990s. Examples include the bulletin boards of ZaMir Transitional Network that brought together anti-war and human rights groups when traditional communications had been destroyed or disrupted. During the Kosovo crisis, web-based databases assisted in reconnecting separated families from displaced populations. In Yugoslavia, Radio B92 famously took to broadcasting over the Internet when Milosevic's regime sought to silence oppositional voices. Branislava Milosevic, OneWorld co-ordinator for Southeast Europe says: "The wars and social unrest in the region led civil society to innovate around uses of the Internet to help address urgent needs such as fighting censorship and human rights abuses. Now, in a post-conflict situation, NGOs in Southeast Europe need the Internet to re-establish ties broken by war - both in the region and with the rest of the world." The report, covering six geographical areas (Albania, Bosnia, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, and Yugoslavia), is the most comprehensive study to date of the status of ICTs among NGOs in the region. One of the key findings is that groundbreaking ICT practices have rarely been sustained as crises have waned. The report calls for a renewed effort to ensure civil society can fully realize the benefits of ICTs to meet the challenges the region now faces in the transition to democracy. In addition to country profiles, the report details: * regional ICT capacity, online presence and NGO use of the Internet * local and regional/international networking between civil society groups, the media, private sector and government * ICT use in specific sectors (e.g. media, human rights, women, environment and AIDS) * factors impacting on the future development of ICTs (connectivity, sustainability and donor patterns) * current NGO support needs (e.g. training and potential projects) OneWorld and the Information Program of OSI have made the report available to assist NGOs in their Internet strategies and also to influence decision makers - such as international organisations, foreign donors and national governments - to recognize the continued importance of ICTs for NGOs and wider civil society in Southeast Europe, particularly their role in ensuring the region's peace. --------------------- For more information, media enquiries and feedback on the report contact: Branislava Milosevic, OneWorld co-ordinator for Southeast Europe tel: +44 (0)787 9634996 email: branislava.milosevic@oneworld.net For more information on the Information Program of OSI contact: Vera Franz, ICTs for Civil Society at the Information Program of OSI tel: +36 (0)1 327 3122 email: ict4ngo@osi.hu Notes: 1. 'The Use of Information and Communication Technologies by Non-Governmental Organisations in Southeast Europe: A Joint Study by the Southeast Europe Initiative of OneWorld International and the Information Program of the Open Society Institute' is available online at . 2. OneWorld has a mission to harness the democratic potential of the Internet for human rights and sustainable development. OneWorld programmes include OneWorld Radio Southeast Europe , an Internet audio exchange for media and NGOs. 3. Open Society Institute (OSI) is a private foundation with programmes in civil society, culture, education, media and human rights as well as social, legal and economic reform. OSI is part of the Soros Foundations Network established by the investor and philanthropist George Soros. The Information Program of OSI promotes the equitable deployment of knowledge and communications resources for civic empowerment and effective democratic governance.

Not sure there's a search feature at that site, liz, but that would be the way to find those posts. (I now see there is, so try that.)

I was just there looking it over myself, and he/she hasn't posted since Monday, when the poster said it was the last post for 4 days, till he gets on "Amerikkkan" soil. So I guess we have to wait a day or 2 more for his next one.

Oh the irony! Thanks for starting this thread. At least, at the end of your days, you can state "I started a 10,000+ thread at FR"!
