A few days ago, weren't we reading about how the NY Times had a former Clinton official's spouse review the latest "bio" of x42? Now this, from the Left Coast:

THE publisher of a new book about the murder of Daniel Pearl claims the book-review editor of the Los Angeles Times ordered a hatchet job against the controversial tome because of a conflict of interest. "Who Killed Daniel Pearl?" (Melville House), by French journalist Bernard-Henri Lévy, accuses the government of Pakistan of playing a key role in Pearl's abduction and murder. So it raised eyebrows when the L.A. Times Book Review - run by editor Steve Wasserman - had Pakistani critic Mahnaz Ispahani review Levy's work.

Not surprisingly, Ispahani tore the book to pieces in an article that Melville House founder Dennis Johnson says was so factually inaccurate "one could only assume she didn't even read the book."

Several facts seem to bolster Johnson's claim that Ispahani was chosen to do the review as a premeditated hit. First, Ispahani had made negative comments about the book in The New Republic months before she was assigned the review. Secondly, Philadelphia-based critic Carlin Romano had already been assigned the job when Wasserman took it away and gave it to Ispahani. Romano eventually published his rave review in The Philadelphia Inquirer. rest of story, Page Six.

I'm shocked, shocked, I tell you!

Page Six also reports:

WE HEAR . . . THAT fans in Sante Fe, N.M., who waited two hours to have their books signed by Michael Moore, were told as they approached the portly populist: "Take your hands out of your pockets and don't ask him any questions"

Sounds like Chubby's taking lessons from Hillary.

Is there any story into which this idiot won't interject himself?

BLAIR'S HEART PROBLEM SECRET FOR 5 YEARS
Oct 26 2003
BILL CLINTON REVEALS TO SUNDAY MIRROR
From James Saville And Dan Evans In Barcelona

FORMER US President Bill Clinton has revealed that Tony Blair has known of his heart problem for FIVE YEARS. Downing Street insisted that last weekend's scare was an unexpected one-off. But Mr Clinton told the Sunday Mirror that his old friend had nursed his health secret for years.

"I've known about this for a long time," Mr Clinton said when asked during a visit to Spain this week. "He told me about it quite a few years ago.

"As soon as I heard what happened I called to check he was OK. We had a talk and he sounded in good shape.

"Basically, the whole problem is brought about by a combination of too little sleep and too much coffee. It's a common condition which doesn't interfere with his work and he has learned to live with it. He's still a relatively young man and exercises regularly so that gives him the strength to fight off these little blips." Mr Clinton, who has lost over two stone in recent months, said Mr Blair told him of the complaint after he became PM in 1997.

"He told me it was no big deal. But I knew the moment I heard what must have happened," said Mr Clinton. rest of story, Daily Mirror

That SOB!! Clinton is the worst scumbag!!!

Why would he out his friend? Because Tony was putting up with the scum just because he was prez and told us so a few weeks back.

If I were Tony Blair I hook up with GWB and make sure that scum never sees another election!

I would wager Blubba's story is all hooey. Picture it: two world leaders are sitting around discussing important issues of the day, and Tony says, "By the way, Bill, have I ever told you about my heart condition? I simply must cut back on the caffeine, eh, wot? Just don't tell anyone else!"

x42 still seems to be that chubby dorky kid in husky-sized pants who will say anything to make himself seem relevant or the least bit important, even to something that doesn't concern him.

Ole bent; of whom it was said that "he's an uncommonly good liar," and that "he would rather climb up a tree to tell a lie, than to say on the ground and tell the truth."

Cheers guys.

Go Stew!

What will Blair say to this? Although when I did a google news search the Mirror was the only one with this story, so perhaps it won't get out to the masses.

It doesn't seem like something those two would discuss, but then who knows.

Have you noticed that the only major news outlets that have written about clintoon's latest drivel, i.e., I told him that in my opinion, the biggest security problem was Osama bin Laden.” Clinton also said his inability to convince Bush of al-Qaida’s danger was “one of the two or three of the biggest disappointments that I had.”, are Reuters and New York Daily News? I finally found another report on that at MSNBC posted on Oct. 24.

It's all over the web at sites like FR and blogs but nary a word in the mainstream press. Hmmmmmmm. Why wouldn't say, CBS and Dan Blather want to shout this info from the roof tops?

THEY SAY THIS HALLOWEEN STORY IS TRUE, BUT I DOUBT IT!

A man was walking home one night when he heard "Bump! Bump! Bump!"
He looked back and saw an upright casket banging down the street.
Terrified, the man ran toward his home, the casket pursuing him.
He opened his door and locked it behind him. The casket crashed through
the door, with its lid clapping. The man rushed to the bathroom and
locked the door. He heard the casket coming. Bump! Bump! Bump! It
crashed through the door! Desperate, the man hurled a bottle of cough
syrup against the casket. It worked! The coffin stopped!

Update on Stewart:

He ended yesterday tied for the lead with Singh, Verplank and Rollins.

Rollins and Verplank have fallen back.

Vijay has pulled ahead of Stewart by 2 strokes and is at -22 thru 10 holes. Stewart is at -20 thru 10. The next closest player is at -18.

Live scoring here: http://www.pgatour.com/scoring/r/index.html

I guess the TV broadcast will be a taped replay. I want Stewart to win so he can say, "I won it for Maw-Maw!" :)

Postscript:

Stewart's had a lot more birdies on the last 8 holes over the last 3 days than Singh has. So there's hope for a slam-bang finish!

Excellent...go Stew!

A gynecologist had become fed up with malpractice insurance and was on the verge of being burned out. Hoping to try another career where skillful hands would be beneficial, he decided to change careers and become a mechanic.

He found out from the local technical college what was involved, signed up for evening classes, attended diligently, and learned all he could.

When the time for the practical exam approached, the gynecologist prepared carefully for weeks, and completed the exam with tremendous skill.

When the results came back, he was surprised to find that he had obtained a score of 150%. Fearing an error, he called the instructor, saying "I don't want to appear ungrateful for such an outstanding result, but I wondered if there had been an error which needed adjusting."

The instructor said, "During the exam, you took the engine apart perfectly, which was worth 50% of the total mark. You put the engine back together again perfectly, which is also worth 50% of the mark."

The instructor went on to say, "I gave you an extra 50% because you did all of it through the muffler."

Didn't this poster have Guild privelages revoked on a previous thread? Something about having a "bad egg" dish and *gasp* no pearls.

That's not too shabby to be the second or third best golfer in the entire world this weekend - not too shabby at all...and the pay does NOT stink.

Cheers.
