2 posts about the NY/Marlins game in breaking news?

This is supposed to be a news board, not the latest on a pastime played by millionaires.

When these guys do good with their lives, or mess up their lives, that's (sort of) news. When they're doing what they're paid for, it's NOT.

While many FReepers are fascinated and enthralled with baseball, there are also many of us who have NO interest in watching a bunch of overpaid fat men standing around, scratching their balls and spitting, while two guys in the middle of the field play catch. Every once in a while somebody does something, and the crowd goes wild.

It's the only game tedious enough that when the spectators get restless, they get up, stretch and start singing to themselves. Imagine that: paying BIG BUCKS to entertain yourself when the (WELL-paid)professionals have bored you to tears.

It's less entertaining than watching the Pro Bowler's Tour on TV, but lasts up to 10 times longer. Yay?

Seriously folks, many of us are on slow dialups, and the bandwidth used to load even an article's title could make a difference to some.

(I know there are gonna be some flames, but [heh heh] think of the children)

Me, and anyone who realizes that sports are a pastime, a diversion, a time-waster.

How, and when, has the world been changed by the results of a sporting engagement?
