In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....
conniption \con*nip*shun\, noun:
1. A fit of violent emotion, such as anger or panic. Also called conniption fit.
One can but hope that the trend in California sweeps the nation and we see a decisive victory in the 2004 elections. With that, it is a fervent desire that we see the DNC rolling in a conniption fit the likes of which we have never seen before. Besides being somewhat triumphant, it would be purely amusing. --RikaStrom WFTD Teacher.

Same here........ they seem to do a more accurate job of predicting the weather here than in Texas......... of course the weather changes so quickly there - and, in their defense, there is a much larger area they are covering - also, in West Texas, we are always desperate for rain - so we get very disappointed when the hint of rain is mentioned and nothing happens.......lol
You know in movies when they joke about people passing each other on the street and saying "heard it might rain!"?....... that's really the way it is out there......lol
To: Flurry
Very nice F......ROFL
To: WhyisaTexasgirlinPA
that would make a difference, needing/wanting rain. i take weather forecasts as just the most general indication of what might happen. as to whether i need to take a coat with me, or an umbrella, when leaving in the AM.

It's funny how different things are in the various regions of the US........ in Texas the weather can change so quickly that you can send your kids to school in shorts and pick them up carrying a coat and gloves for them......... at least up here in the Mid-Atlantic Region you know that it is going to be cold in November - March......lol
I'll bet the areas of the Dakotas and Wyoming/Montana have some pretty quick weather changes as well........ gotta be prepared up there!

Sorry I missed your post last evening, Whyisa-I was deeply involved with a grill and some chicken leg quarters. I agree with Robert on the screw extractor thing-since hubby does so much woodwork, we have a whole set of them. I find it better to let him handle the stripped screws, as I get rather impatient quickly. We used 6 and 8 inch lag bolts and carriage bolts to attach the staircase in our house to the balcony and the 4x6 and 4x4 support posts, and to attach the bannisters.
