Word For The Day, Tuesday, October 14, 2003

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....

conniption \con*nip*shun\, noun:

1. A fit of violent emotion, such as anger or panic. Also called conniption fit.

One can but hope that the trend in California sweeps the nation and we see a decisive victory in the 2004 elections. With that, it is a fervent desire that we see the DNC rolling in a conniption fit the likes of which we have never seen before. Besides being somewhat triumphant, it would be purely amusing. --RikaStrom – WFTD Teacher.

Advocates of the gay bishop argue the way some Americans do when finding new rights and social-policy imperatives in a limitlessly elastic "living Constitution." The bishop's advocates say Scripture and 2,000 years of church teaching about sexuality and family are being "imaginatively construed in a certain interpretive trajectory." The Rev. Martyn Minns of Fairfax, Va., an opponent, says that in Minneapolis, "When the plain teaching of the Bible was referenced, eyes rolled, and with expressions of polite exasperation we were told that it was time to move on. The Bible simply hadn't kept up

OMG, they need to light these people UP! glad to see that the Fairfax guy seems to be on the correct path, at least.

I thought it was very amusing to watch the conniptions thrown by the California democrats after Davis lost to Arnold. It will also be amusing to watch as the landslide rolls over the Clintons and their democrat party in 2004, the 'party' will be over, turn out the lights.

If I hadn't just paid for my latest fix, I'd check into freeper rehab. I blame LE for finding this place. But I love her so even if she is an enabler. She took today off to finish planting the pansies.

Doesn't she need you at home to plant the pansies?

I built the planters and keep the soil worked. She likes to play with the flowers. She was going to plant Saturday but I asked her to marry me and gave her a ring just to get out of painting the guest bathroom. I painted Sunday and she planted some. Then we went rock flashing again.

She just drives the bus on the sidewalk on the way to the frozen food aisle. BTW, I am the only passenger on that short bus and I told her I needed some frozen fish!

I think the server down is a good fund raising ploy! If they had hit the goal, they could afford to keep the speed up to normal posting time. As it stands in an effort to save money they slow it down and only run 1 hamster instead of the normal 10.
