All right, if you can thread a baseball game, I'm starting a thread about the best team in the NFL

Just wanted to start something... I mean, it's football season, and no one has made mention of the positive turnaround for the Cowboys? C'mon.

I'm not a Cowboy fan, but I do agree with you on Quincy Carter. I even said that last year in the article I did on the 2002 season. (see http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/chat/733166/posts)

I don't think 8-8 is unrealistic, but I don't see a playoff run comming this season. May next year though.

I didn't get an article done this year. (too busy) but for the record, my preseason Superbowl picks were Kansas City vs. Philadelphia. I'm still feeling pretty good about the KC pick, but I think I missed the mark on Philly.

Weird. The link I just posted doesn't seem to work. Here's what I wrote before the 2002 season about the Cowboys.

Dallas Cowboys. Cowboy fans need to unite and send letters to Jerry Jones saying “I know we are not getting 10 wins again this year, but please don’t pull the plug on Carter”. Quincy needs one more year of hard knocks and I think we will see the maturity level of a top ten quarterback by the end of the year. Cowboy fans should spend this year focusing on Emmit Smith breaking Walter Payton rushing record, bask in it, and don’t worry about the standings.

Has anyone ever scored a touchdown in the first
3 seconds of the game before today? Somehow, I doubt it.

Has anyone ever run 37 yards in three seconds?  Slomo would
look like reg'lar speed.

There was an article in this morning's Houston Chronicle (which didn't make the website) discussing this. It said that replay showed the clock didn't start until after he had taken a few strides. However, it is not going to be officially reviewed, and will likely forever stand as the fastest touchdown in NFL history.

The best team in the NFL will be the one with the most points at the end of the Super Bowl. Always been the case. As far as Dallas is concerned, this is night and day. It makes the whole week go better for Cowboys fans. We'll see where KC, Minnesota, Dallas, Carolina, and the other winning teams will be in December.

BTW, unless the league moves the kickoff line back, or someone is faster, Randall Williams will hold the record for quickest opening score for a while. I'm glad it's a Cowboys record.

Hey, didn't we have some discussion of this last August?

Not that I'm gloating or anything.

gloat...gloat...
