During an appearance on the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast released Friday, a former adviser to Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy warned the free market may be at stake if the nation does not reform its institutions.
“Are we at a time right now where it feels like we’re just going to be status quo for the next four years?” former Kennedy adviser Calley Means told host Joe Rogan. “I’m worried about socialists taking over because I think unless the Republican Party actually has an anti-corruption plan to actually fix this, Americans are going to vote for a different solution.” The interview was released days after Republicans lost their majorities in both chambers of Congress following Tuesday’s midterm elections.
Means also told Rogan the Republican response to socialism should be, “Oh, we, you know, support free markets.”
“We don’t have a free market in healthcare. We don’t have a free market in agriculture. We don’t have a free market in housing,” Means continued. “If the Republican Party does not listen to what Trump said during the campaign, stop trying to subvert him, but actually — you know — try to do what he said and resonate with voters on— we’re screwed. Before you have a free market, you have to fix the structural problem.”
Means noted that this observation, which he said President Donald Trump campaigned on, is similar to what people like Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and Democratic Michigan Senator-elect Abdul El-Sayed have been saying.
“My thesis is I think Trump … can save his presidency, can change staff, and get back on more of — you know — an America First fighting position against the swamp and get a lot done and maybe with the Democrats,” Means later said.

Labeling a former adviser to Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, who is still a Democrat as far as I know... a “former White House Advisor” seems misleading and stupid.
What Americans. Illegal non-citizens who bleed the country dry?
If anyone is counting on Republicans to do anything, they are in for a disappointment.
JPeterson made the point that a society is vulnerable if there is a big rift between Haves&have nots. He was talking about people looking about and seeing/imagining that all the wealth is in the hands of a few. And, that = power to rule.
Yeah, that is a problem, but, it is two problems: perception is one. And, that has no truth behind it, just assertions who want power. That is the selling point of all collectivist polities.
Commie trash point to EMusk and say that his wealth is excessive and must have accumulated ONLY if he stole it from others. BShitte.
The other fundamental problem is that most gov’mt revenue is from rich and middle class — >40% of citizens have no skin in the game on gov’mt spending ‘cause they are never called upon to fund it. They pay no income tax so they can be persuaded by commie trash to have another law or program.
If you do not fix both of these problems simultaneously, neither will help. It is like sitting in a boat with a hole in it. Yah need to plug the hole and bale at the same time or forget it and start swimming for shore.
Nations move to socialism after their institutions have failed.
And then they learn that the institution of socialism cannot succeed.
Republican voters will never do anything either.
