Kyle Fellers missed half his daughter’s senior-year soccer games after a dispute over a pink wristband. Two years later, Bow School District has a federal judgment declaring that it violated the parents’ First Amendment rights, plus a settlement providing $275,000 in legal fees and costs.
The wristbands carried two letters: XX. Apparently, defending girls’ sports required parents to defend their right to wear something smaller than the average school identification badge.
From KSAT:
In a dismissal order Thursday, U.S. District Court Judge Steven McAuliffe said the men have a First Amendment right to silently wear the wristbands and that school officials violated it. Under a settlement agreement, the district’s risk pool will pay $225,000 to the Institute for Free Speech, which represented the men in court, and $50,000 to the men's attorney. The plaintiffs will each get $17.91, an amount that symbolizes the year states ratified the First Amendment.
Fellers said he missed half of his daughter’s soccer games during her senior year because he stood up for what he believes in. The wristbands were marked “XX” to represent female chromosomes.
“It took more than two years, but the court has recognized that what happened to us was wrong,” he said in a statement.
On November 5, U.S. District Judge Steven McAuliffe entered a stipulated declaratory judgment recognizing the plaintiffs’ right to wear the wristbands silently along the sidelines, in spectator areas, and in parking lots at Bow District sporting events. The order expressly declares that the district violated their rights at the Sept. 17, 2024, girls’ varsity soccer game.

Awesome. Dads should have received $$ for pain and memories lost but the ruling is good.
The Bow School District officials who caused this should be fired and any teaching certificates they have should be revoked.
The post and in checking the linked source article fail to identify state of city.
Anyone know?
Meh. If the “administrators, superintendent, and principal are not directly punished, this means nothing. Hope they enjoy their $1791.00. Is the tranny still on the team?
The awarded damages for these types of cases need to be much larger.
As long as it’s trivial, the government entities have absolutely no reason to stop their tyranny.
I’d say at least 10% of the entities budget should suffice.
Where is Bow?
“..If the “administrators, superintendent, and principal are not directly punished, this means nothing. ..”
EXACTLY.
It’s one thing to after the school district for actions of thesse communist arseholes...quite another to go after them personally. Make THEM personally liable and responsible for their BS decisions...
They should have whatever certificates they hold, revoked and a restraining order keeping them away from school districts and kids..
Bow High School is in Bow, New Hampshire.
In a few months, when the rats begin their retribution reign of terror, I expect cases like this going in the opposite direction.
Those school administrators were really nasty!
The court is in New Hampshire and McAuliffe was nominated by George H.W. Bush. The judge’s wife was Christa McAuliffe who died on the space shuttle.

There has to be a way this kind of thing can be speed up. He had to miss half the season to stand for his rights and those responsible pay nothing.

Is it Bow as in “Bow And Arrow”?
Or Bow as in “Bow down to BLM and the Alphabet Pervert Lobby”?
