On Wednesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Arena,” Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO) responded to a question on if a Democratic socialist can be elected president in 2028 by saying that “I think there are great communicators. And regardless of the moniker or the labels you put on them, a lot of the things those candidates say are actually important things,” and labels aren’t that important to people.
Host Kasie Hunt asked, “If the margin is small enough that some of the Democratic socialists in the party are likely to, potentially, be able to control the floor, what is the risk, for Democrats, of overreaching in ways that might turn voters off ahead of the 2028 presidential election?”
Crow responded, “Well, that’s a leadership function. All of this boils down to making sure that we, as party leaders, are leading our coalition, we are leading our caucus, regardless of the size of the majority. And, to me, it doesn’t matter whether we have a five-seat majority or a 50-seat majority, because the solution is the same, the response is the same. And that is, when you’re in leadership in this moment, what you have to do is sit down, you have to talk to people — this is what Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) has been doing constantly, actually, around the country, I’ve seen it — having all of these discussions with candidates, of all stripes, around the nation and figuring out what motivates them, what are their priorities, and — most importantly — what does their district expect? Our job title is representative. I represent 750,000 Coloradans.

Well, I recall what hope and change added up to, the US got screwed with the election of the Obamsham. So, I discount nothing given my belief one could go broke over estimating the intelligence of the average US voter.
Like whining about stolen land? (through a mask of course)
Abdul is a ‘capitalist who understands capitalism’. It’s amazing how far one can get saying things like that. How do you get the voters to open ALL their eyes? Explaining without letting our enemies blow off our talking points is the skill we need to work on. Name calling will only buy so much even if true.
Dem Rep. Crow on if Dem Socialist Can Be Elected POTUS: Many of Them Saying ‘Important Things’
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument
Given the federal government's constitutionally very limited powers (hint), most federal domestic policy these days based on state powers that the very corrupt, post-17th Amendment (17A) Congress has stolen from the states, power hungry, institutionally indoctrinated, Democratic socialists are unthinkingly wasting their time with POTUS imo.
More specifically, consider that most post-17A ratification lawmakers discovered that they could promise voters who have evidently never really studied the fed's constitutionally limited powers every unconstitutional federal social spending and civil rights policy under the sun to get themselves elected. Constitutionally naïve voters eventually took the bait and elected these crooks, and then reelected them!
Then once in office, criminal-minded lawmakers immediately violate their oath to protect and defend the Constitution by simply fulfilling their vote-buying campaign promises for unconstitutional federal funding and spending programs.
Justice Louis Brandeis had put it this way about the unique, 10th Amendment powers of the states to serve the people.
10th Amendment: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution [all emphases added], nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
"[...] a single courageous State may, if its citizens choose, serve as a laboratory; and try novel social and economic experiments without risk to the rest of the country." —Justice Louis Brandeis, Laboratories of Democracy.
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
The congressional record shows that Rep. John Bingham, a constitutional lawmaker, had clarified the federal government's constitutionally limited powers as follows.
Simply this, that the care of the property, the liberty, and the life of the citizen [all emphases added], under the solemn sanction of an oath imposed by your Constitution, is in the States and not in the federal government. I have sought to effect no change in that respect in the Constitution of the country. —John Bingham, Congressional. Globe. 1866, page 1292 (see top half of third column)
From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]. —United States v. Butler, 1936.
16th Amendment: The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived [emphasis added], without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.
Cherish, therefore, the spirit of our people, and keep alive their attention. If once they become inattentive to the public affairs, you and I, and Congress and Assemblies, judges and governors, shall all become wolves [emphasis added]. It seems to be the law of our general nature. —Thomas Jefferson (Letter to Edward Carrington January 16, 1787)
That being said, Trump's red tsunami of Democratic and Republican supporters, evidenced by his third win in 2024 elections, need to help preserve his legacy by likewise giving state and federal Republicans a record-breaking win in the midterm elections.
I never renounced my oath to defend the the Constitution against all enemies foreign AND DOMESTIC. apparently mr. crow has.
Perfect dichotomy.
Oh we are representatives. Myazmah!
We wish to lead.
Nothing but good old brown shirts!
Blatant lying now passes as communication?
Capitalism innovates
Socialism imitates
Get rid of the first, and the second cannot sustain itself, so chaos ensues
Socialism imitates ... Poorly!
If a “Noo” Socialist is elected POTUS, we shall have a “Noo” country!
No thank you!
What a crapshow the Dem House will be.
Indeed anyone that notes the countries that go socialism and the states that did have their answer how it end up BAD.
