During a portion of an interview with CNN aired on Monday’s “Inside Politics,” Maine Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Troy Jackson could not say what percentage he wanted to tax billionaires at and said that “I’m sure we’ll figure out what that percentage is going to be when I get there.”
Host Dana Bash asked, “You mentioned taxing the wealthy, that’s another question I was going to ask, because you say you’re going to tax billionaires when I get to the U.S. Senate. Can you be specific, what kind of tax are you thinking about?”
Jackson responded, “Well, the income tax.”
Bash cut in to follow up, “I know, but at what percentage?”
Jackson responded, “Well, I’m sure we’ll figure out what that percentage is going to be when I get there. But no more income tax cuts and rolling back the cuts that they’ve already got.”
Bash pressed, “But rolling back to what point? Meaning, like, how much do you want to tax wealthy people, and what do you consider a wealthy person, at what income bracket?”
Jackson responded, “People that are making millions of dollars a year that are getting tax cuts, people that are not paying anything on their earnings, no taxes on that. Those are all — there [are] all kinds of opportunities to make a fair taxation system. And I’m sure that we’ll have to sit down and work with our colleagues, both on the Democratic and Republican side, to come up with exactly to what extent that’s going to be. But there’s lots of time to do that and to come up with something that’ll pay for those things and make a fair tax system where middle-class people don’t pick up all the burden.”

The ones who don’t pony up their tribute to the DNC.
Wow. So articulate. He’s not in MENSA for sure.
This is one of those moronic Democrat “we have to pass it to know what’s in it” kind of statement.
It’s never enough for these communists.
“ALL of it,” and we’ll give you what you need to live.
This idiot has never heard of “capital flight”
These people are on a suicide mission and completely crazy. Shouldn’t we be talking about Taxing Benefits for Government Employees instead??
Turning America into a nation of Goodfellas
good answer, good answer. LOL! I watched a clip of dana bash interviewing him and even she was frustrated by lack of knowledge he put on display. Maineiacs will still vote for him. As much as I don’t care for collins, any lame republican candidate is better than any ace democommie/socialist POS!
Oh crap, I’m going to become a billionaire in the eyes of the Democrats
Protect our billionaires!!
Not even in the math club since the math never adds up: this is all about a money grab to 'stick it to the man' -- always popular among those in the theft/grift party.
It is the rare democrat who will actually state a percentage. And I never really understood why. I guess they don’t want to be “held to it.”
I think I would have more respect for someone who stated a percentage and backed it up with reasoning. I wouldn’t agree with them…but at least it would not be “we want most of everything over $150k”.
“ALL of it,” and we’ll give you what you need to live”

Yes, Nazi Pelosi redux.
The heart of socialism/the Demcrats is envy/theft of other people’s money.
Democrats will do more evil with the money than billionaires ever do on their own.
See how good he is at figuring out how to get union money:

Islam wants 2.5%.
Real property tax rates commonly range from 1% to 2.5%.
Beware of any fixed dollar amount, it’s only a matter of time and inflation before the middle class gets fleeced.
