Ohio Dem Gubernatorial Candidate Has Mommy Issues That You Won't Believe

"Amy has a serious problem," Democrat Ohio gubernatorial candidate Dr. Amy Acton's estranged mother says in a just-released campaign video, "She is a liar, she lies about her past."

I just about spit out my coffee.

"I love my daughter, but when I saw her lying about her opponent," entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, Donna Arthur says in the clip before trailing off into telling the world her daughter is a big fat liar.

"She says she grew up living in a tent," Arthur continued, referencing a common refrain from Acton's stump speech, but "none of that is true. She's lied her entire life."

The 1980 election was when 11-year-old me first got heavily into all things political, and I can tell you that in nearly five decades of political activism, political engagement, and writing about it as a career, I've never seen anything like Arthur's video today.

And yet somehow this isn't the first time Dr. Acton's mommy issues started a political firestorm.

In short, Amy Acton's mother came out and called her daughter a pathological liar in a political ad.

Here's a partial transcript of the ad from the Washington Times:

“I love my daughter, but when I saw her lying about her opponent, it’s not easy for a mother to say this, but Amy has a serious problem,” says Ms. Arthur. “She is a liar. She lies about her past.” In the video, Ms. Arthur challenges Ms. Acton’s claim that “she overcame periods of abuse, hunger and neglect, and even wound up living in a tent in the middle of winter.” Ms. Arthur says in the clip, “None of that is true. She’s lied her entire life. My daughter needs help, and she can’t help you if she needs help herself.” She continues, “People can change, but first they have to tell the truth, and my daughter still isn’t doing that. Don’t vote for people who lie. Don’t let her become your governor.”

Wow.

There's obviously a lot of bad blood here, stemming from a seriously dysfunctional family situation in Acton's youth. Whatever the truth is, Ms. Acton is clearly the worse for it based on her present behavior.

The LIE is the anti-human weapon used most often by the criminal. Lying to a psychopath is smart though. Examine each individual. Judge their words, their actions. Acton’s words sound like those of a lying psychopath. When that demon knocks at the door, do not open it.

Lying isn’t just a tool to sociopaths, it’s a game.

I knew a pathological liar many years ago. Most of the time he lied to get out of something he did, and that happened often because he was a sociopath and was always getting into something.
Second most often was to try to get something out of someone. Sociopaths are manipulators. Other people are just opportunities to them.

But third most often was for sport. If for nothing else than to kill their boredom, and to practice their skills, a sociopath will just try to see how ridiculous of a lie they can sell to someone.

Sociopaths are attracted to power, which is why a lot (my opinion) of politicians are sociopaths. However, democrat party (also just my opinion) seems to attract the worst/most

Interesting tidbit: according the article, Acton was found curled up in a ball on the floor and also crying in the bathroom before meetings while she was health director.
