Hundreds of infuriated parents and staff members descended on Portland Public Schools’ headquarters Tuesday night to protest far-reaching proposals to close up to 14 schools, shift grade configurations and programs and redraw attendance boundaries.
In numbers not seen since the Portland Association of Teachers strike, demonstrators chanted and cheered outside the district headquarters and scolded school board members during their meeting inside the building.
about half of the district’s elementary schools have fewer than 300 students and a handful have only half that number — it gets harder to afford stable staffing.

So have the laid off any teachers or is this just a jobs program now?
They are PO’d that their taxpayer funded daycare is closing some facilities for their little baby Klantifags.
“Hundreds of infuriated parents and staff members descended on Portland Public Schools’ headquarters Tuesday night to protest far-reaching proposals to close up to 14 schools, shift grade configurations and programs and redraw attendance boundaries.”
...but if their kids don’t learn shit, no big deal and certainly nothing to protest about.
Take a lesson from the frogs…burn some schools down. That’ll show them!
After 2 years of covid you’d think they’re used to it.
One parent to another: “So finally after all these years our French classes are coming in handy as we watch the TV feeds from France about school protests.”
“Oui.”
“Yeah, I meant we both can use French now.”
“Forget it.”
My my, how far Portland has fallen.
If public schools run by leftist woke feminists close down then where can children get indoctrinated? The back alleys?
True.
At one of the forlorn closed down school buildings a junk dealer will sweep up a tattered copy of The Population Bomb on the floor.
Book jacket blurb under the title:
“While you are reading these words, three children are dying of starvation and twenty four more babies are being born.”

Smaller head count + less money.
Teachers and administrative staff unions cannot stop this
As Neal Boortz would say govt centers of indoctrination are not profitable

The smart folk are leaving town since they’re being taxed and crimed to death. Taking their kids with them.
Schools are going to empty and the fools left behind can’t figure it out.
Too bad.
“The Population Bomb” was the biggest hoax ever perpetrated against the American population.
It convinced people that there were too many of us and poof suddenly we need to import the third world because employers whine “we can’t find any workers!”
The socialists are runing out of other peoples’ money!
Run for your lives!
People want something for nothing.
Conservatives see the problem. Resources are limited.
Liberals assume there is plenty for them. The believe someone is stealing what should be theirs.
my standard response to tax increase or state and city governments wanting more money. “Stop paying illegals, deport illegals, and use that money for your projects.”
They’ll find it easier to foist their stupid leftist indoctrination on children if they don’t go to school at all and remain illiterate.
