Faculty member celebrates as students engage in ‘decapitation’ of Trump piñata

A group of students at San Pablo, California’s Contra Costa College engaged in a “decapitation” of a Donald Trump piñata, which appeared to be celebrated by one of the school’s counselors.

According to Fox News, the X account Libs of TikTok posted video of a person in a blindfold approaching a Trump figurine — donned in a “blue suit, red baseball cap and holding a sign that reads ‘F— ICE'” — and then beheading it.

The event reportedly occurred “a few months ago,” but the video surfaced “just last week.” It “appear[ed] to be overseen” by Lorena Gonzalez, currently listed as a counselor at Contra Costa.

In the video, following the figurine’s beheading another individual “picks up the decapitated piñata and raises it above his head as he is met with cheers from the group of students.” Gonzalez raises her arms above her head in a celebratory manner.

According to the Contra Costa College student paper The Advocate, Hispanics comprise just under half of the school’s total student body.

In a statement, the college told Libs of TikTok it does not “condone or allow violent political rhetoric,” and added the incident had been “addressed as a personnel matter.”

Neither the college nor Gonzalez responded to Fox News for comment. However, White House spokesperson Davis Ingle told the outlet “Anyone who engages in or endorses political violence or assassination culture must be condemned in the harshest terms possible.”

Ingle added such individuals should “immediately seek psychiatric help to treat their severe and debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that has warped their brains and made them sick in the head.”

Despite the statements by the school and Ingle, effigy-style protests have a long political history in the U.S. Referencing a separate incident last year, Washington University School of Law in St. Louis Professor Greg Magarian said such depictions of political figures “are generally protected speech.”

“That’s what effigies are,” Magarian said. “It’s a form of speech that goes way back. Whatever you might think of it, it is protected by the First Amendment.”

In early 2017 a Trump figure was hung in effigy and was deemed protected by the First Amendment. Three years later, an effigy of Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear was hung without criminal charges being filed.

University of Louisville Law Professor Samuel Marcosson noted of the latter that “the government would have to show that it was intended as a threat […] not just that it was perceived as a threat by other people.”

In addition to counseling, Gonzalez is involved in “La Raza Studies” and “Ethnic Studies” according to a 2026 Ethnic Studies Summit page. At that summit, Gonzalez shared “community-centered teaching and learning educational practices” from her course “Intro to Psychology of La Raza,” which also served as the “foundation” for the student club Concilio de La Comunidad.

Ironically, two years ago Gonzalez criticized a widely publicized joke about Puerto Rico by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe. At a Trump campaign rally, Hinchcliffe had referred to the island as a “floating island of garbage.”

Gonzalez told the Advocate the 2024 election was “an extension” of the joke, saying Puerto Rico “is still in 2024 a colony of the United States that continues to be abandoned by the U.S. government and its politicians in times of need […] despite the U.S. citizenship provided to Puerto Ricans.”

Imagine a school where students decapitate an Obama piñata.

You can’t, of course, not only because the leftists in power would never allow such a stunt, but because we would never think of doing it, even if we approach Obama with well-deserved opprobrium.

It is not a joke to say that the head of Trump piñatas is the seed of making America great again.

It’s always a one-way street for any sort of political violence ranging from antifa to BLM to Kathy Griffith to Charlie Kirk to Crooks shooting President Trump.

Remember when a rodeo clown (at the Missouri state fair?) wore an Obama mask?
The left and the media went nuts.
IIRC, the clown was fired and everyone involved had to fall all over themselves to apologize.
That being said, making a Trump piñata is protected, albeit offensive, speech.

The inner bay counties of San Francisco, Alameda, and Marin fell to the maniacs in the 60s and early 70s. Santa Clara and San Mateo still elected some republicans into the 80s, but now are fallen. The outer counties of Solano and Contra Costa, where this story takes place, fell in the 90s

Ms. Gonzalez. You didn't expect the kind of counselors we used to have, did you? You know, normal people without an axe to grind?

The Left is showing a part of the brain that our side left behind in early civilization, showing our superiority once again.

The Charlie Kirk killer and the attempts at Butler and elsewhere followed effigies in BLM and other demonstrations and riots. Burning a Wicker Man and other primitive actions continued today appeals to the Left types. And they express their low impulse control when stabbing and slashing victims on subways and at bus stops in cities.

Apologies to all of those here who still have holiday dinners and so on with Dems and Socialists in their families. Keeping your head down and hands folded in silence as if you are the black sheep for being a loyal American and MAGA supporter will not protect you when they take over.

We demand equity!

Perhaps a Hussein piñata that is tarred and feathered?

If not, inside the Hussein piñata could be dozens of different birth certificates. Kenya, Moscow, Havana, etc.

Message: An outrageous “decapitation” of President Trump was apparently orchestrated by tax-paid Contra Costa College counselor Lorena Gonzalez. Following the beheading apparently a student raises it above his head and is met with cheers from tax-subsidized students.” Counselor Gonzalez joins in and raises her arms above her head in a celebratory manner.

This cannot be condoned. Taxpayers demand the cessation of tax dollars to the college for its demeaning actions toward a president.

Contra Costa College (CCC), San Pablo, California, receives millions of federal tax dollars annually, primarily allocated through federal student financial aid (Title IV funds) and categorical government grants. A large share of federal tax dollars to CCC comes from student financial assistance programs.

Roughly 24% to 28% of undergraduates receive federal Pell Grants to cover tuition and living costs——an average of $5,712 per year in federal grant aid, alongside supplementary aid like the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG) and Federal Work-Study funding. CCC and its sister campuses, receive more than $62.9 million in joint federal and state financial aid annually.

Please cease tax subsidies to show taxpayers’ outrage at this disgraceful behavior.
