Twenty-five years later, the legacy of 9/11 is that there was no 9/11.
Commemorations this week hold that the deadliest attack on the U.S. mainland forever changed the way we live. And that’s true if we mean that for the past 25 years Americans have lived in a collective fugue state from which there seems no exit.
The issue isn’t that nearly a third of the country was born after the attacks or that foreign intelligence services push 9/11 lies into our social media ecosystem. The conspiracy theorists are more shrill a quarter of a century on precisely because our memories of the day, and our reactions to it, have been redirected and erased.
There was never any kind of cover-up; there were no “dancing Israelis” who secretly directed Arab terrorists into the Twin Towers to get American boys to die in the Middle East on behalf of Israel; and there was no controlled demolition of the towers as part of a false flag operation to drive an angry nation to war in the Middle East.
Rather, it was more like the opposite: Elites across the political spectrum blunted the rage of a wounded nation determined to avenge its dead.
By the time of the attacks, New York had been in the crosshairs of Muslim terrorists for decades. The city is the world capital of finance, media, advertising, publishing, and culture, from painting to theater. And much of its success was thanks to the waves of Jewish immigrants that started arriving in the middle of the 19th century....

That, plus daddy wanted junior to do clean up detail in Iraq. I could see that junior was a blithering idiot. Whether you agreed with him or not, Tony Blair could at least put a sentence together. All W could muster was, “Yeah. What he said”. But of course, we had no choice but to vote for him, because the alternative was even worse. Except for Reagan, until Trump came along, the powers that be kept hoisting losers on us. And of course, Trump was a force to be reckoned with, whom they had no control over. Well, I say no control, but with the likes of scum (Lord forgive me) like Ryan, McConnell and Thune, he still can’t do everything that needs to be done. Democrats are vile and evil; those who call the shots in the Republican party are little better.
Knew the jig was up when Jorge called it the war on terror. If you can’t name the enemy...There is too much there, there, NOT to think FDR didn’t let Pearl Harbor happen. They always use the same playbook, so there is too much there-there not to wonder why 911 happened and then we attacked Iraq.
The 911 commission was a joke with the wolves investigating the hen house. There’s a reason the world’s superpower hasn’t won a war in 75 years.

It was a war on terror. Hussein supported terrorist with terrorist training camps like Salman Pak (complete with a passenger jet fuselage), financial support to terrorist groups, paid the families of suicide bombers $10,000-$25,000, etc. He clearly would have gave them whatever weapons he could develop.
Because ISLAMIST terrorists took over airplanes...not arguing hussein wasn’t scum. But calling it a war on terror is a stoopid euphemism. Were we at war with the IRA? No. Find it odd we took out one hussein only to elect another:) The crusades have been going on for a very long time, but only one side seems to be truly engaged.
Your argument seems to ignore any possible Saudi or Iranian involvement not to mention our own gov’t’s puzzling lapse in intelligence/security.

Jamie Gorlick is the key to unlocking much of this. For those who don’t know, she was like the Forrest Gump of everything bad that’s happened to us in the last 50 years.
She helped create the wall between law enforcement sharing info that led to 911 failures, but then sat on the 911 commission. She was deeply involved in the OK City Bombing investigation/coverup (the one that ,may have included a mooslim suspect who was rabbit-holed). Jamie was integral in the Fannie Mae housing bubble and at each stop along the way she made 10’s of millions dollars.
There’s much more to her story, and her biggest achievement like the devil, is that no one believes she exists!

I don't ignore the possibility of some Saudi or a lot of Iranian involvement. Our own gov't? Please tell me you are not one of those claiming a "dumb" president came up with a plan that involved a lot of citizens disappearing, bringing down 2 important buildings live on television, video of bin Laden telling his crew to "be patient" after the 1st building was crashed into, etc., etc.

I’ve been calling her the Mistress of Disaster for 25 years.
Lots of Saudi were involved however Yemen was where it was planned.
Pakistan and Iran probably funded it.
And GWB attacked Iraq.
