GOP members say Epstein probe was rigged to protect Haaland (NM - Haaland Dem Gov candidate)
The Piñon Post ^ | August 12, 2026 | Piñon Post staff

Republican members of the New Mexico House’s Epstein-related special subcommittee are blasting the panel’s process after they say a reference to Democrat gubernatorial candidate Deb Haaland’s 2014 flight aboard an Epstein-connected aircraft was removed from the interim report without their knowledge or approval.

Reps. Andrea Reeb, R-Clovis, and Bill Hall, R-Farmington, said Monday that they have “grave reservations” about Chair Andrea Romero’s handling of the panel’s first interim report, citing unilateral changes, shifting drafts, lack of notice to Republican members, and the unexplained removal of information they say all four members had agreed to include.

The panel has repeatedly been branded by Democrats and allies as a “truth commission,” but it is not an independent commission. It is a special committee of the New Mexico House of Representatives created by House Resolution 1 during the 2026 legislative session. HR 1 directed the speaker to appoint a four-member House special committee, with two majority-party members and two minority-party members, to investigate Zorro Ranch and related allegations of criminal activity and determine whether legislation or other legislative action is needed.

That distinction is now central to the Republican complaint: if the so-called commission is merely being used to protect politically inconvenient Democrats, then the process itself is becoming the story.

According to a press release from the House Republican Leadership Office, Reeb and Hall were “shocked” to learn from Senate Republican Leader Bill Sharer’s August 10 press release that the final interim report omitted mention of Haaland’s September 8, 2014 flight aboard an Epstein-connected aircraft.

The Republicans say the Haaland reference was verified by documents made public under the federal Epstein Files Transparency Act and that on August 4, all four members of the House panel agreed to include the reference to Haaland’s flight in the report.

Sex slave suit: NM was a location used (Jeffrey Epstein ranch)
The Albuquerque Journal ^ | January 6, 2015 | Mark Oswald
Posted on 1/7/2015, 11:29:07 AM by CedarDave

SANTA FE – Lawsuit claims about young female sex slaves allegedly kept by billionaire investor Jeffrey Epstein and offered to a worldwide list of the rich and famous have reached New Mexico.

In a new court filing in Florida, plaintiffs’ lawyers maintain that a woman identified as Jane Doe No. 3, said to have been coerced into Epstein’s camp when she was 15 years old, was frequently sexually abused by Epstein “not only in West Palm Beach (Fla.), but also in New York, New Mexico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, in international airspace on … Epstein’s private planes, and elsewhere.”

Epstein owns or has owned a 26,700-square-foot mansion near Stanley south of Santa Fe on 10,000 acres known as the Zorro Ranch. The court filings don’t say where specifically in New Mexico the alleged sexual assaults took place.

The new filings came in long-running litigation accusing federal prosecutors of striking a sweetheart deal on charges against Epstein for having sex with underage girls. Epstein served 13 months for procuring a person under the age of 18 for prostitution in 2008 and is a registered sex offender.

Epstein’s Zorro Ranch in Santa Fe County is on land he purchased from the family of former Attorney General and gubernatorial candidate Gary King.

Epstein made news previously in New Mexico. He twice attempted to contribute to King’s campaigns, but King returned the money. King received $15,000 from Epstein in 2006 when King first ran for attorney general and $35,000 from companies connected to Epstein for his gubernatorial campaign this year. Also in 2006, Epstein gave $50,000 to the re-election campaign of then-Gov. Bill Richardson. Richardson said then he’d give the money he received from an Epstein-affiliated company, Zorro Trust, to local charities.

Haaland is her married name. Her heritage is Laguna Pueblo native American. Her policies are even further to the left than our current radical environmentalist pro-abortion governor. She was appointed by Biden to head the Dept. of Interior where she spent her time opposing oil and gas activity on federal lands. However her signature achievement was removing the word “squaw” from all US geographic place names where it appears on topographic maps and in other documents.

She was just a bobblehead during her time at Interior, and let the radical environmentalists run the departments. Lots of damage was done. She will make MLG look like a genius.

I’d say that they are trying to protect a lot more NM politicians than just Haaland, (including some that have been dead for a while but are still ‘revered’ among the left and the ‘low-info’ moderates and even some conservatives who should know better.)

And Haaland is only ‘half’ ‘Native American’ Her father was “John David Haaland”, a white ‘Norwegian Minnesotan’.
