EXCLUSIVE: State employee who keyed Teslas promoted to supervisor, given raise

Minnesota state employee Dylan Adams, who caused at least $20,000 in damage by keying multiple Teslas around Minneapolis last year, has been promoted to a supervisor position and given a raise.

The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) confirmed to Alpha News that Adams is in a “temporary assignment as the supervisor of the Disability Services Division’s Fiscal Policy Team.”

Adams started in the position last month. Alpha News has also learned that as part of the promotion, Adams received a $3.58/hour pay raise as his compensation rate went from $48.60/hour to $52.18. That means he’s likely now making a six-figure salary paid for by tax dollars.

Adams received a one-day suspension for the vandalism that took place in March 2025. He admitted to keying multiple Teslas around Minneapolis and said he was “on a break” or “out sick” during some of the incidents. Alpha News obtained records that show Adams was logged as working during at least some of the daytime incidents.

At the time, Adams was employed as a fiscal policy analyst at DHS and was the “Compliance Lead on DHS’s Program Integrity Team” before his promotion.

According to a DHS report on the matter, Adams shared Gov. Tim Walz’s disdain for Elon Musk.

Adams told investigators he vandalized Teslas because he believed Musk gave a “Nazi salute” during President Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony.

He also said he hoped damaging the vehicles would prompt Tesla owners to “disassociate themselves” from the company and its CEO, according to the report.

Evil always advances those who are successful in creating more pain and suffering.

This promotion is the equivalent of advancing to a deeper circle of Hell or heaping another shovel of coal over his head.

The world’s pleasures are fleeting, enjoy this brief moment before you enter into your eternal destination, you won’t need a jacket when you get there.

This guy should not be involved with anything associated with integrity.

His supervisor should be fired for not knowing or ignoring that he was not at his desk while he was on the clock.

Years ago there was this reject person who could apparently get away with pretty much anything and not get fired no matter what or how many times he was caught doing stuff.

The guy later somehow got a tech support job at USC (SC) that involved doing almost next to nothing and he was too lazy to even do that much.

Anyway, he started parking in a VIP slot daily for a while. One day a big expensive Mercedes that belonged to a real VIP parked there.

Reject keyed the car and was caught.

He had to pay for the damage and I think finally retired out as a state employee.

So, he was committing crimes while on the clock being paid his salary by the MN taxpayers.

If that is not a fireable offense, I don’t know what is.

I’ve run into many in the civil service and private sector who can do just about anything blatantly and get a pass.
