Larry David's historical series jabs Trump, RFK, jr., leaves laughs behind
Larry David doesn’t know when to quit.
The 79-year-old funny man said, ‘goodbye’ to “Curb Your Enthusiasm” in 2024 after 12 mostly solid seasons. He’s fabulously wealthy thanks to that program, plus all those “Seinfeld” residuals.
David co-created the iconic NBC show.
He doesn’t need the money, and his cranky alter ego suggests the “fame” part of celebrity isn’t a top priority.
David still felt the need to star in a new show for HBO Max, one that examines American history through a very Larry David-style lens.
“Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness.”
The show, co-produced by the Obamas, debuted to tepid critical reviews. The finished product, to be blunt, is bad.

Pathetic to say the least. Yes, Reiner went out in a tragic way, but at least this drivel won’t be remembered.
I hate having all these subscriptions. At least with the original Netflix you got the entire season to binge all at once. I cannot go back to serial television and wait a week between episodes. Just won’t do it. Especially if they want me on the hook for $17 a month or even $35 a month for a “package” (like Disney, which I would cancel except I get HBO (which has historically made some of the best independent shows and films since cable was invented) and Hulu (which the wife watches) with it). So I haven’t seen the show. Generally was a fan of Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm, his politics doesn’t bother me the shows were very entertaining and self-deprecating.
So I’ll get around to this one, when all the episodes are available to binge.
And I’m not a fan of these 8 or 10 episode seasons either. Remember when they put out 22 or 24 full hour episodes every week? Why can’t they do that anymore? I find myself binging old shows (and some not so old) some have 18-24 episodes and 10 seasons. Others, I put on because I know them very well and its good to close my eyes, put the volume real low and take a nap.
If this serves to hurt his bank account, I’ll accept that as why I might care.
Otherwise, not.
Take it for granted, that if Larry David has his name on the project in any way, just know it’s going to be something clearly Anti-Trump and/or MAGA.
That’s the truth.
Thanks for the heads up.
And they ran from early September to late May.
I remember networks when they had a one hour preview show of their lineups.
Same with Saturday morning cartoons. As a kid they showed it the day after Thanksgiving ( if I recall ).
We’d never miss it.
I think between he and Jerry Seinfeld, Larry is funnier. However, his personality is much more annoying.
we tried to watch “Curb Your Enthusiasm”, and the only episode we managed to get past the first 5 minutes was “Palestinian Chicken”, which was hilariously funny from beginning to end with a laugh every few seconds ... everything else was just a bunch of whining ...
Are they going to do a segment on, according to the Smithsonian, Ben Franklin electricity experiments on his slaves?
Do not let those who despise this country rewrite our history.
The reddest of red flags.
