The government of China denied any election interference in the United States on Thursday night, shortly after President Donald Trump delivered a speech in which he announced that his administration would declassify intelligence documents about the integrity of American elections.
One of the major categories of documents being released, President Trump explained, was regarding the Chinese Communist Party’s attempts to influence American elections in the past decade. The documents indicated that the American intelligence community had obtained evidence of China amassing a massive trove of voter data. They also compiled evidence that Beijing was especially opposed to President Trump’s reelection prior to the 2020 election, allegedly fearing the unpredictability of Trump’s handling of the presidential office.
The Chinese embassy in Washington issued a statement to CBS News following the speech on Thursday — which also touched on other countries potentially compromising election integrity and voter trust in the results of elections — in which it denied any wrongdoing.
“China has all along adhered to the principle of non-interference in others’ internal affairs,” the statement reportedly read. “The U.S. election is an internal matter of the U.S. Its outcome is determined by the votes of the American people. China has never and will never interfere in the presidential elections of the U.S.”
The Chinese Communist Party has faced accusations of election meddling throughout the free world. In Canada, for example, the Security and Intelligence Threats to Elections (SITE) task force revealed in 2025 that it had identified “coordinated and malicious activity” by accounts linked to the Chinese government targeting the general election that resulted in the installation of Mark Carney, a longtime Chinese business partner, as prime minister.

Now how many foreign elections do we interfere with?
With their data hacking, they certainly have been Peking into our voter information, so of course our elections have been Mao-Maoed.
Like most countries, I take announcements of “official” positions with a huge pile of salt. Their statement may be true about government sanctioned interference. The Chinese government can’t speak accurately about “independent” agencies within their borders, who may be operating in the shadows.
How can you tell when Chinese are lying, their lips are moving
True, we all do, difference is we have a media and party that not only deny it happens, but claim those that do are nuts.
It’s a lie. They did and frankly, should interfere in some way in our elections. We are too important for them to not care about who wins here.
China has as much credibility as Democrats — none.

Well, I for one, feel relieved. I am glad we know they don’t engage in that kind of thing.
There are only Trillions of Dollars at stake and world domination, and being the worlds largest criminal enterprise (just ahead of the American Democrat Party) I would have just assumed they would engage in every illegality they could to bring more power and money to their authoritarian regime.
Glad I was wrong about that. I will certainly sleep better at night.
