Last night I celebrated the 4th of July with a group of friends and relatives. After a small firework show at our celebration, it started the lightning and thunderstorm. And so, it was into my friends’ house we went. That said, I grabbed the remote control and searched for either a drone show, or a firework show from some other part of the country that didn’t have to deal with a thunderstorm. In the midst of this, I happened to find this incredible presentation that encapsulated the rich history of America and projected it on to the Washington Monument in Washington D.C., using it as a “bigger than IMAX” visual wonder.

A couple of days earlier, I wrote a piece for my webpage called The Psychology of Patriotism chronicling why it is important to have a sense of purpose in America, which can only be achieved through a set goal, purpose, and a will and determination to see it through. America allows for said principles to be set in motion and actually happen, and this presentation on the Washington Monument served as a visual account of this spirit in action as an important part of our nation’s history. Every milestone (including many that were not included), ever achievement, every accomplishment, every contributor’s dream, will, purpose, determination, endurance, and perseverance became a strong and radiating example of what to emulate if you or I want to make our mark (in some way), whether big of small in this country.

"the drive for meaning in the next era of our nation’s history."
