Labour to pay British firms £5k per foreign worker while nation's youths battle jobs crisis

Labour is set to pay British firms £5,000 per foreign worker - despite the nation's youths battling an unemployment crisis.

The Government is set to subsidise "high-growth" firms up to £25,000 in visa costs for high-skilled workers hired from abroad in a scheme to be announced today.

The scheme will cover specialist hires in the tech and digital, life sciences and clean energy sectors, alongside a scheme to fast-track UK Worker Expansion licence applications to help "high-potential international businesses set up in the UK more quickly".

But opponents of the plan have described it as a disaster for young British graduates who "already faced the worst jobs market in a generation".

A single "scale-up" business would be allowed to claim a maximum of £5,000 per employee, up to a limit of £25,000 per year.

It is understood there would not be a direct limit on the number of staff, other than the financial cap.

Labour will also expedite visa applications for the UK "Expansion Worker" sponsor licence, which allows staff from businesses based overseas to establish temporary operations.

This would last around 10 days, rather than several weeks.

Announcing the policy, Chancellor Rachel Reeves said: "We are backing the UK's most ambitious firms to start, scale and stay here - with the finance, talent and support they need to succeed."

The Milburn review found last month that Britain was facing a major worklessness crisis, with the number of 16-to-24-year-olds not in education, employment, or training (Neets) rising to more than one million.

Same thing happening in Canada , company pays 25% of the wages while the taxpayer pays the other 75% and when these leeches become citizens the taxpayer will be on the hook for 100% the rest of their lives

Government is set to subsidise “high-growth” firms.

Sounds like the U.S. day care shops stories have made it to the U.K.?

Where is Labour getting all this money for foreigners? Oh, wait. I know.
It’s from this guy.

Oliver Cromwell, please pick up the white courtesy telephone.

What is stirring right now will make Cromwell look like a garden party.

In the West, the governments that are elected by the voters, hate the voters. The phenomenon of oikophobia is the dislike or even hatred of one’s own country or culture. It is rampant within the political class that is (apparently) supported by the voters. But this just makes me think that the elections are not real, and the opinions of the voters are not really a factor. All that we can say for sure is that Your Government Hates You.

Citizens are allowing it, same as here. They can only do what the citizens allow.

The British police are mindless drones. They will carry out whatever vile order is given to them.

If things get truly out of hand (and I suspect they will), the key will be the British Army. Will they join the protesters, fire on the protesters, or stay in their barracks?

I would guess that the Army would side with the police, and not with the protesters. But Romania’s dictator Ceauşescu thought that, too. And look what happened to him.

In the Nowak case, initially the police sided with the migrant until public outrage mounted. Pile the Belfast incident on top, and you have a powder keg. My guess? The match will be when the Government uses troops in the manner the police initially handled the Nowak case.

I have worked with several H-1B visa holders from India. They were all:

1) Inexpensive
2) Not talented or inquisitive or innovative
3) Would vote for democrats if/when possible
4) Hate Americans and America

So yes every western country needs millions of people like this! </sarcasm>

“until public outrage mounted”

There’s an episode of “The Crown” that shows Irish outrage. I think it is the one where Mountbatten gets killed.

A bomb was set off in Thatcher’s hotel and mortar shells were lobbed toward 10 Downing Street when John Major was in it.

“British Army. Will they join the protesters, fire on the protesters, or stay in their barracks?”

They’ll be outside trying to start up their unmaintained vehicles.

If the young people of a country don’t have reason to get a STEM education, a country won’t be able to sustain a defense industry.

From what I understand, they were only able to send one destroyer to Cyprus.

Carriers and destroyers were all at port due to maintenance.
