Democratic Maine Gov. Janet Mills told voters Monday that she will still be on the ballot for the U.S. Senate race despite having suspended her campaign weeks earlier.
Mills suspended her campaign in April for financial reasons while still saying at the time that she had “the fight” to continue. On Monday, Mills posted on X, stating, “People have the impression that I withdrew or dropped out, but I simply suspended active campaigning. I am still on the ballot.”
“While I have the drive and passion, commitment and experience, and above all else — the fight — to continue on, I very simply do not have the one thing that political campaigns unfortunately require today: the financial resources. That is why today, I have made the incredibly difficult decision to suspend my campaign for United States Senate,” she had said in April.
Mills re-entering the race comes after oyster farmer Graham Platner, the race’s other Democratic candidate supported by Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, faced criticism for sexting several women after getting married.
Mills, who is backed and was recruited by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, will remain on the ballot since she did not fill out the paperwork to nullify her votes with the Maine Secretary of State, according to the Portland Press Herald.
A poll released last week by the University of New Hampshire showed that Mills only had 10% support, according to the outlet. The University of New Hampshire had released a poll when she was actively campaigning showing that Mills was trailing behind Platner by a significant margin.
Mills has been under scrutiny during her time as governor because she has expanded taxpayer-funded health care to illegal immigrants and declined to veto a bill that would limit law enforcement collaboration with federal immigration authorities.

if Mills is still on ballot it’s even more despicable that Ds haven’t forced Platner out of race.
Those people just suck. All of them.
Let her stay and split the Demonrat vote with the Nazi. A more repulsively ugly woman is impossible to imagine. She is 78.
This is SO rich! The Dems running two complete losers. That should work out well.
Simple solution. Just get a judge to order everyone to vote for her.
L
I lived in Maine for a decade and the only thing I didn’t like was the ignorant political views of the idiots that lived their and were devout leftist types! Rather than trying to attract businesses of ANY sort to try and get their in state economy going as opposed to the welfare and immigrant scum state they currently are. Trucks (Big Rigs) leave the state EMPTY. Also I’m tiring of having any concern for states that will not help themselves....leftist/somali/muslim/black fatigue is heavy .
The Dems are doing to Platner what they did to Swalwell..they want his ass GONE..they knew the whole time about Swalwell but waited til he was a problem in order to get rid of him, now its the same with Platner, they knew about EVERYTHING yet now they are making a fuss like they just learned about this stuff today. They think what, that Mills will have a better shot LOL I thought a poll has this jackass leading by 9 points so whats the problem..that he’s a pedophile, yeah well the Dems love their pedo Hamas lovers so whats the problem
🤔 Curious... What became of all the potatoes?
Vodka.................😁
Either one will lose to Collins.
The real good news from Maine is that former governor and strong Trump ally Paul LePage is polling strong to take Maine’s 2nd congressional district. He will be the only Republican in the House from New England. The counties that make up that district voted three times for Trump and twice for LePage when he was elected governor in ‘10 and ‘14.
Paul was raised in Maine poverty and isn’t shy about telling conservative truth. He makes progressive heads explode and has a one-of-a-kind laugh when that happens and it makes them even madder. He’ll have some choice things to say in Washington, D.C.
I understand she is popular in Maine.
I’m just sick and tired of Democrats saying how much they’re for democracy. Then they turn around and coordinate a president that didn’t get a single solitary vote and now they wanna hand pick a Senate seat after the person dropped out. I wish Republicans would yell to the top of their lungs that they are the worst and abusive to democracy I still can’t believe there was no traction, practically at all about the fact the hand shows a presidential candidate without a single damn vote. I’m still stunned by that they should be saying that today every day, reminding them of how undemocratic that was.
So, once again, I am going to type out something utterly disgusting. No, no, no profanity.
One of the democRATs/DemoKKKrats favorite organizations is NAMBLA.
Here is where the typing becomes difficult.

Pardon me while I puke and replace my soiled keyboard.

She has no pro Hamas Nazi creds.....not qualified to be a democrat candidate in Maine.

It is pretty sad if Mills is the ME Democrats “rescue” candidate.
She is only popular in the 1st Congressional district, Southern Maine, aka “North Massachusetts.”
I read somewhere that most “native Mainers” are of a conservative nature.
The southern part of the state has been outright invaded by MassHoles, NYawkers, etc. that bring their BS communist politics with em.....to to mention Obama’s samolie filth.
The few native Mainers that I’ve come to know utterly despise these invasive basstids along with their AWFLs, with a passion, but there is nothing that can be done.
IF the Republicans can find a way to win utilizing the commie “rank choice voting” system, the communists will shitcan that approach the next day....LOL
