Ask yourself a question: Why are Democrats so opposed to deporting the millions of illegal migrants who flooded into the country during the Biden administration? They know that illegal immigration propelled Donald Trump to the presidency in 2016. They saw how, after winning back the White House in 2020, Joe Biden’s catastrophic open border policies paved the way for Trump’s return in 2024. And they surely must see the polls showing that Americans overwhelmingly support securing the border and deporting illegal migrants — particularly those with criminal records — even if they disapprove of the way Trump has carried out those policies.
Having lost two elections to Trump on illegal immigration, one would think that even the slowest learners would see that a more moderate course is the smart move politically. But instead, Democrats have doubled down. Why?
One possible answer: redistricting.
Right now, Democrats are losing the redistricting battle. Republicans are set to net as many as 14 GOP-leaning congressional seats across multiple states this year. With the Virginia Supreme Court decision invalidating Democrats’ effort to redraw the state’s congressional map in their favor, the party’s only major victory was the addition of five seats in California, giving the GOP a larger gain so far. And after the U.S. Supreme Court decision declaring racially segregated districts unconstitutional, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee and South Carolina all moved ahead with redistricting efforts that will add even more seats for the GOP.

Thank you for posting. Fascinating article. It explains an awful lot about why the left is pursuing an objectively bad policy.
but don't forget about outright theft.
Illegals, particularly under Biden, were the justification for $$Billions dumped into blue-state, bloated welfare systems. 1000 "Learing Centers" and fake "home health-care" businesses popped up like weeds.
People like Tim Walz and Ilhan Omar, operators of the Democrat machine in their states, got their hands on a lot of walking-around money for themselves and their cronies. Duplicate this across every state's democrat/woke government bureaucrat and welfare apparatus and that's a great thing for Democrats in power.
History will show it was three at some point, but shenanigans were afoot.
If the Republicans were caught in Texas doing this kind of fraud, the Biden Administration would have put them in prison by now.
It is a de facto, and I suppose also de jure, coup d'état.
This is obvious.
Illegal immigrants should not be classified as residents but as transients, and thus not counted in the census.

That’s why they fight ‘tooth and nail’ to not deport any——even the criminals.
If they get the White House again, our southern borders will be wide open again,,,,,in fact, if they get another chance, “you ain’t seen nothing yet” compared to the Biden years.
And of course, they change headlines while online. The old headline read “Here’s a clue why the Democrats won’t move to the center on immigration”.
Remember that statement of commitment about illegal immigration Trump made during his State of the Union Speech, where the democrats refused to stand.
That only needs to be played during the fall campaign to win back the House and the Senate.

There is a multi-billion dollar industry encouraging and facilitating illegal migration. This has been going on for decades.
They are making bank, that’s why. The financial fraud is epic. The Election Fraud is just icing on the cake. Basically they get to destroy America, and also become fabulously wealthy in the process.

Some us remember the establishment GOP being just as bad on illegal immigration.
They helped the Democrat left and Mexico fight California’s Prop 187.
They talked Reagan into going for the 1986 Amnesty.
And if not for angry voters melting DC phone lines the dimwitted Dubya would have gotten the Amnesty he wanted in 2006.
That crowd is still enmeshed in GOP circles and waiting for the Trump era to end.
Apportionment.

Dems have been slowing implementing this over decades: it is a basis for the Cloward Piven Strategy developed in the 60’s. Obama and Biden simply accelerated the effort.
The WaPo is talking about this simply because Bezos forced the paper to be more middle of the road, whatever that means. They would have never talked about this as a strategic plan.....despite everyone with eyes and a brain could see what was happening.

Given Thune has inexplicably shitcanned the SAVE Act, voting on eliminating illegals from the census should be topic number one. I strongly suspect it would be a winning topic......
Gotta admit they’re always one step ahead of us when it comes to pulling off that stuff. FDR expanding the court, LBJ’s Great Society, now it’s statehood for PR and DC. What’s next another covid? The good news is we’re learning-slowly. Indiana’s a year too late.
What will it look like after the 2030 mid-terms and the resulting census? Will enough be deported? Crime should go down further but in the wake of AI the democrats will have another crisis to not waste. Hopefully OUR fossil fuels will be king.
And some of them are big donors or supporters of the GOP and libertarian foundations.
