President Donald Trump on Thursday linked violent rhetoric flowing from House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries to political violence, including the most recent assassination attempt on him.
“This lunatic, Hakeem ‘Low IQ’ Jeffries, should be charged with INCITING VIOLENCE!” Trump posted on Truth Social.
Trump posted an image of Jeffries standing by a photo of Trump that had the words “maximum warfare, everywhere all the time” upon it. Next to that was an image from a video that showed accused gunman Cory Tomas Allen as he arrived at the White House Correspondents Association dinner
In the least surprising moment since Katie Porter screamed profanities at a staffer, the man who posted images of himself brandishing a baseball bat, https://t.co/LPGlQhz1oi, declared "I don't give a damn" about criticism over his reckless rhetoric. https://t.co/XMKlqR8EW0— Jonathan Turley (@JonathanTurley) April 28, 2026
“The Radical Left Democrats actually want to Destroy our Country,” Trump posted.
When Jeffiries was asked about the comment he made after the attempt on Trump’s life, he said, “I stand by it,” according to Axios.
Jeffries mocked “so-called criticism from these phony Republicans.”
“You can continue to criticize me for it. I don’t give a damn about the criticism … get lost,” he said after the attempt on Trump’s life.
Jeffries was criticized by Republicans for language that could be easily interpreted as a call to violence.
“So-called Hakeem Jeffries is a disgrace to the United States Congress,” Republican Rep. Randy Fine of Florida posted on X.
“He is deranged, disgusting and violent. It is unacceptable that House Democrats continue to remain silent in the aftermath of his call for ‘maximum warfare, everywhere, all the time’ against Republicans,” he wrote.
“Their casual acceptance of hateful and divisive language enables this out-of-control behavior,” he wrote.

See new posts Conversation Paul A. Szypula 🇺🇸 @Bubblebathgirl Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) just called White House Press Secretary Leavitt a “stone cold liar” for highlighting the violent rhetoric Democrats have spewed for years.
Jeffries is mad that Democrats are being exposed as promoters of violence. Republicans rarely riot. It’s usually Democrats. That’s just a fact.
The Democrat Party is the party of violence, and Democrat politicians need to be jailed for inciting it. They know exactly what they’re doing. They’re why Charlie Kirk was assassinated. They’re why there have been three clear assassination attempts on President Trump’s life.
Democrats will never stop inciting violence unless legally forced to. Arrest them. Jail them. Inciting violence is not protected speech under the Constitution.
It’s time to hold Democrats accountable with real legal consequences.
That’s the only way there will ever be true peace in America. 3:36 PM · Apr 27, 2026 · 2,386 Views
“Democrats must hold so-called Hakeem accountable. Americans will not let the violent and thuggish behavior of so-called Hakeem go unchecked. Accountability is coming to all of these sick extremists,” he wrote.
Republican Rep. Andrew Clyde of Georgia noted on X that on the night of the attempted assassination, radical Democrats held “Death to tyrant” and “Death to all of them” signs outside the White House Correspondents Association dinner.
“The Democrat Party’s rhetoric is demonic and dangerous,” he wrote.

Nothing will happen.
Even if not convicted of anything, Hakeem Jeffries, still has to defend himself against a potentially very serious charge, and if played right, can turn the concept of “lawfare” on its head.
Money spent for lawyers in a looming court battle can seriously depress the amount of money that may otherwise be available for an active political campaign.
Lawfare!!!
Skewer him upon his own words.
Bankrupt the jackass.
No judge is going to issue a warrant based on what Jeffries said.
Nothing will happen.
You are right. The Rs didn’t even say anything to Maxine Waters when she was publicly inciting violence. Weak
I dunno, I could see a warrant for Hack-eem’s arrest based solely on how weird he looks.
There is that.
As a member of Congress Jeffries has more to say about things than most of us. He holds a very privileged position, but if he feels violence is better, he needs to quit his protected place in Congress and go out in the street with the rest of the thugs so he can get the punch in the mouth he deserves.
“...so he can get the punch in the mouth he deserves....”
He “deserves” more than that....a heckuva lot more.
Hakeem is so triggering I can’t stand a few seconds of his looking from side to side, moving his hands around and mumbling a portion of a sentence and pausing two seconds again and again.
Enough.
RE: Maxine Waters....
You’re right.
Outside of 3 or 4 times I posted a link to Waters shouting to the crowd to track down and follow GOP people home, follow them to stores and restaurants and “get in their faces” and not let them have any peace or privacy, where were the big complaints against Waters?
She believes she can get away with anything.
He's not wrong.
Looks and talks like he has mental problems.
With a mouth like a torn pocketbook, you're not making a point, you are only inviting people to misunderstand you. In a worst case scenario, the most illiterate and irresponsible will take you at your word. In either case you are misusing your position and making yourself irrelevant.
Then it is a judge in a court of law who has to speak FOR you, one way or another. What sane person wants to outsource their own message to that extent????
By now, fully half of the US has a little button in its head called "Liberal shyt" and whenever these hysterical Liberals open their mouths, we reach up there and turn it OFF!
He^#, I learned that on the playground!!!!!!
Democrat leadership is a form of death it ain’t like who knew.
