Cory Booker Admits Dems Are Coming for Supreme Court if They Win Midterms
The Western Journal ^ | 05/06/2026 | Johnathan Jones

Sen. Cory Booker, a New Jersey Democrat, said this week that Democrats are still eyeing major changes to the Supreme Court if they win the Senate in November.

During a Tuesday appearance on “All-In with Chris Hayes” on MSNOW, Booker openly discussed “reforming” the court.

Host Chris Hayes noted that many Democratic voters increasingly believe “something has to be done” about the court’s conservative majority.

He asked Booker whether going after the court had become a priority for Democrats seeking to regain power in November.

“The Supreme Court is another example of an area where most Americans agree,” Booker claimed.

Booker then argued in favor of imposing term limits on Supreme Court justices.

“In addition, most Americans agree that Supreme Court justices shouldn’t sit on those benches until they’re so ailing,” Booker said.

“So, yes, we have to think hard about how we’re going to reform the court and bring it back into alignment,” he added.

He also accused the court of having eviscerated “years and years and years of progress” by ruling last week that states cannot gerrymander districts based on race.

Booker’s threat comes after years of Democrats and liberal activists openly floating proposals to restructure the court.

After Republicans secured a 6-3 conservative majority following the confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett, many on the left demanded that the high court be packed.

Some congressional Democrats proposed increasing the number of justices from nine to 13.

Others pushed to add Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico as states, proposals that would arguably give Democrats four more permanent Senate seats in addition to a packed court.

In an opinion piece published by The Hill this week, Becket Adams noted that many liberals only view the Supreme Court as illegitimate whenever they disagree with major rulings.

The Democrats have seceded from the human race. It’s time for Trump to go full Pinochet.

I think helicopter rides are too expensive.

Just put them on a platform, under the propellor, and keep raising that up,

It’s a canard. Dems have zero chance packing the Supreme Court without the Presidency…..

We need a constitutional amendment to make court-packing impossible.

The democrats might win the midterms but the number on the redistricting happening across the country have almost sealed the democrats fate. Ive wondered for months prior why President trump didn’t seem to care about his numbers and how bad the poll numbers were for the midterms. Now we know. Even if the dems sweep the house that still only gives them a tie and VP Vance is the tie breaker. That Supreme Court ruling was everything for President Trump.

I state the obvious when I say that today’s Democrats are committed radicals. But term limits for the justices won’t happen. That would take a constitutional amendment. Too tough.

So instead they will pack the Supreme Court as soon as they are able to. That would only take a majority vote in each House of Congress.

What about the filibuster? A Democrat Senate majority can just cancel that rule.

Trump would certainly veto any such attempt. But who will follow Trump?

At the risk of repeating myself...

Nothing is ever settled until it is settled the way the left wants it settled. It doesn’t matter how many times we win a situation, the left will try something else and something else and something else until they get their way.

There are only two options for ending this. One is to give in. I cannot say the other.

If the Democrats were able to enlarge the Court in 2027, they would then have to block all nominees until the next Democrat President. So the Court would stay at 9 at least until 2029.

Yes. And even with the Presidency, they need 60 Senate votes to pass a court-packing bill. Not going to happen. Booker and others are just tossing tofu at their base.

No they (we) don't. Another lie.
