Since one of the charges the would-be assassin is facing is interstate transport of a firearm with the intent to commit a crime, could his trial for this charge be held in Arizona, since that is the first state he entered after leaving California? Or any red state that he entered that might be more likely to convict him than a D.C. jury?

That the guy was allowed in the hotel as a guest is a huge red flag. Where is the AI detection? Where are the analysts? What would have happened if 10 committed jihadies had shown up with serious firepower and no desire to home? SS does not seem to have gotten their stuff together.

The key is blocking all access and stationing men in stairs and elevators. Only those invited get to go through security.
