Secretary Duffy officially announced the withholding of $73.5M in highway funding on April 16th after much back and forth. New York state failed to revoke illegally issued non-domiciled CDLs and CLPs. Officials allege that 53% of all reviewed non-domiciled CDLs in the state were issued illegally. The USDOT also alleges that DMV’s systems defaulted to issuing 8-year licenses to foreign drivers for non-REAL ID licenses, regardless of when their legal status expired.”

Now, New York Attorney General Letitia James and Governor Kathy Hochul are representing the state of New York in a suit filed against the federal government filed on Friday, April 24th. The suit seeks to reverse the decision on yanked funding, arguing that the lost funds puts New Yorkers at risk, reported Reuters.

The appeals court will now consider whether the federal government acted within its own authority when it withdrew the funds.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

If they can't speak English, they didn't pass the exam, which is in English legitimately. So NY want to keep putting these drivers on the road, killing people in other states.

Dear NY State, exactly how would you handle the following situation? 53% of all reviewed NY Tax Returns deductions were illegal. The State denied those, the taxpayer sued!

The leftists working the court system again, where they’ve stacked the deck with judicial loyalists, bought judges, and blackmailed judges.

I don’t know where they put all the millions. I recently drove from the Merritt pkwy in Connecticut over to westchester. As soon as we got onto 287 in NY the difference was ridiculous. it was like driving on a dirt road. Bouncy, pot-holed, the road is neglected. A major New York suburb highway. For people paying 10% of their (very expensive) home’s value in taxes annually

A complete rip offf to the residents in NY who just because they’re ok w getting ripped doesn’t mean they should in turn rip off the federal government. I left NY a long time ago. This is illogical and corrupt

And putting Sikhs and other foreigners behind the wheel of a big rig when they can’t even read road signs doesn’t put everyone on the roads at risk? The nerve of these women.

FMCSA —— a DOT agency——notified New York that it failed to revoke non-domiciled CDLs/CLPs that were issued in violation of federal rules, prompting a “substantial noncompliance” finding.

An audit of 200 records in New York found over half were issued without proper verification of legal status, with many extending beyond the driver’s lawful presence in the US.

DOT) is withholding over $73 million in federal funding from New York due to this failure. Similar high non-compliance rates and corrective actions have been noted in other states, including California and Texas.

Federal regulators are auditing CDL records nationwide following a focus on security by officials like Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.

The FMCSA has demanded immediate revocation of these licenses and has paused the issuance of new non-domiciled licenses in the affected state.

Now their decision to elect a DEI AG is going to make this lawsuit into a comedy show.

"arguing that the lost funds puts New Yorkers at risk,"

yah, well, having illegals driving puts New Yorkers AND the entire USA at risk.

Sec Duffy, continue withholding the $73.5M. Thank you.

All of the other states need to sue NY state for allowing the illegal, non-Emglish speakers on the road, endangering others.

I believe it. Fortunately, I do not live in the Empire State and will not have to smoke it.
